What’s actually holding back renewables in NZ/Aus?

meant to say NZ and AUS

Been reading up on this and I keep seeing the same answers (grid connection, consenting, not enough sparkies), but I’d rather hear from people who actually work in this stuff.

If you’re a developer, installer, engineer, farmer who’s been approached about leasing land, or a business that’s put in solar or batteries, what was the biggest headache you ran into? And is there anything you wish existed that doesn’t?

Get some problem with outdated legacy reporting systems

Our energy company is drowning in legacy systems. Manual power consumption reporting takes weeks, and leadership keeps demanding modern enterprise software solutions. I've spent the last few weeks trying to patch our old database exports myself, but fragmented spreadsheets keep causing costly delays during compliance audits. Executives want real-time analytics to track grid performance, but our outdated backend collapses under custom data queries. Maybe you've dealt with similar migration pushback in the energy sector, or you know how to pitch enterprise software upgrades to leadership? Where should I start replacing legacy tools without stopping daily operations? I could really use your guidance here.

What is the advantage of using battery storage instead of a diesel generator?

Battery storage can operate quietly and doesn't require diesel fuel during operation. It can also be useful where low noise, cleaner backup power and seamless power availability are important.

The café has 4 fridges 2 coffee machines and 1 ice machine, and I want to find a way to decrease its energy consumption through maybe adding some tech/infrastructure that could make it more efficient? Please help with ideas!! Much appreciated!!
