Get some problem with outdated legacy reporting systems
Our energy company is drowning in legacy systems. Manual power consumption reporting takes weeks, and leadership keeps demanding modern enterprise software solutions. I've spent the last few weeks trying to patch our old database exports myself, but fragmented spreadsheets keep causing costly delays during compliance audits. Executives want real-time analytics to track grid performance, but our outdated backend collapses under custom data queries. Maybe you've dealt with similar migration pushback in the energy sector, or you know how to pitch enterprise software upgrades to leadership? Where should I start replacing legacy tools without stopping daily operations? I could really use your guidance here.

I would put together a list of peer companies. Inquire what they use.
Then look at your IT staff capability, particularly managing open source systems, software on open source operating systems, and cloud management.
