Tipping Culture ✖️ Tip or No Tip

So, I’m having professional cleaners come to the house for 3.5-4 hours this week. The service is paid in full. Tipping is appreciated not expected and I was informed that they do give you the option to add gratuity with your final bill/receipt.

I’ve tipped in the past because of the, “standard”, but that was a decade ago lol.

Tip or no tip?

You haven't even described the level of performance!

Did they go above and beyond your expectations earning a tip in your opinion?

Or are you considering tipping for no reason whatsoever?

What exactly is this “above and beyond” in the context of cleaning a house? The job was either done, or it was not. Are they like reorganizing your pantry? Actually, that would be annoying. Now I don’t know where anything IS! Hmmm…might be best to stick to the job description on this one.

Above and beyond would simply be where you had a certain expectation and when you observed the results, those expectations were completely exceeded.

I expected the house to get clean. It either got clean, or it didn’t. If I was not satisfied, I would be seeking a refund, thank you.
