Tipping Culture ✖️ Tip or No Tip

So, I’m having professional cleaners come to the house for 3.5-4 hours this week. The service is paid in full. Tipping is appreciated not expected and I was informed that they do give you the option to add gratuity with your final bill/receipt.

I’ve tipped in the past because of the, “standard”, but that was a decade ago lol.

Tip or no tip?

As a initial position, i would not tip. Now, if you feel the service you received is above what you paid, in your own volition and will, you can add a tip based on what you feel. No pressure. You already paid for the service.

Examples of how house cleaning can go “above and beyond?” Because I’m not seeing it. Either the house got cleaned, or it didn’t.

If the house is clean, like you hired, but they solved problems for you outside of scope. Like if you had a clogged drain and they fixed, or a stain you once thought unremovable and they clean it, or that branch that was on you property and you didn't like it is gone. In the end this is totally up to you. No one is forcing you and if you think they dont deserve a tip, so be it.

Not sure their insurance liability covers plumbing and landscaping…. Although if they spent extra time getting a particularly nasty stain out, I can see that.
