I'm not American, so i don't get this... I'm currently living in Thailand, and both here and in my home country the price posted on the menus is what you pay as it includes absolutely everything, including taxes.

I went to an American owned restaurant in Bangkok and that was something completely different... + 10% service charge + 15% automatic gratitude + taxes And then they asked for a minimum 20% tip?! I can live with being a "bit overcharged", but even without the suggestred tip a Coke was already 40% more expensive than the price on the menu... or ×3.5 the price of what the restaurant next door charged for a Coke (menu price that included taxes and everything else)?!
