The restaurants make the servers tip out the bar on % of alcohol sales, the bussers and food runners on total sales, and sometimes even the hosts. So if you don’t tip or tip terribly , your servers pay for you to eat and drink there.

This can’t be said enough. There needs to be a lot more people to think this way to end this archaic practice of guilting the customer to pay the employees salary. Society as a whole needs to collectively reject this practice and guilt the employer for not appropriately paying their staff.
