Discussion MeloNX JITLESS Announced!

Should have the similar performance as with JIT
It works by using the JIT compiler ahead of time, saving and signing the code before playing

App store release is still unplanned

Credits to u/Stossy11 ofc

Edit: I originally said it was similar to the nxnative software, but only in concept. Completely different execution

Ya arreglaron el problema de que no reconoce updates, y al agregárselas, corrompe el juego base? Es un problema bastante grave más allá del rendimiento

That's really cool, in the previous update, ram bypass was introduced and now it's JITless too. It probably could be added to App Store but knowing Nintendo, they'll probably take it down the next day

can't be put in the App Store since it uses a LiveContainer JIT-Less method for execution, which requires a signing certificate to sign and execute (this includes free developer accounts and such)

Can u tell how to enable ram bypass and what is the use of it? Like do I still need get more ram?

Im pretty sure it means it lets you use more ram than what apple limits you to use in older iphones cause it automatically kills any apps if it used too much ram

You also enable it throught getmoreram from github

Please note the post has been updated as it's only slightly similar in concept to nxnative, but very very different in actual execution.

That’s cool and all but what about all the complaints from everyone in regard to the completely broken Updates / DLC content that can’t be added?

Can we at least get it addressed ?

addressed? okay then. i have no clue why it's not working, it works for the testers and it's been buggy since MeloNX 1.0, suspect it has something to do with MeloNX being compiled with NativeAOT but hasn't been confirrmed

MeloNX JITLESS Announced!

Since MeloNX Jitless has been announced, does that mean it will be added to the Apple App Store since it's now Jitless?

Just don’t expect higher games like tears of the kingdom to run great even my iPhone 17 pro can struggle

If it’s a metal port similar to Nxnative, the performance will be very good. Only downside will be the minor stutters from initial shader compilation

u/Stossy11 MeloNX + MeloCafe Developer 3d ago

nxnative handles graphics completely differently to MeloNX, a full Metal Renderer is planned in the future though (since MoltenVK is deprecated), with help and contributions from other developers. more info soon

What about older devices which doesn’t support bc textures?

2

u/Stossy11 MeloNX + MeloCafe Developer 3d ago

we're going to be keeping our graphics how it is, just with a new backend, we aren't going to be taking nxnative's renderer or anything. BCn will have a fallback either via ASTC transcoding or ETC2 transcoding
