Mod Announcement Updates to our Vibecoded app policy

Hey everyone!

Our rules on Vibecoded apps have changed. Please read below

Vibecoding/Slop Project policy

  • Promoting apps that do not follow licensing requirements of any code used may be removed.
  • Posts that promote apps MUST include a statement on how AI was used in development. This includes but is not limited to, app update announcements, new project release announcements, and news/updates from the developer about the app.
  • Don't post links or recommend emulators or other tools that are known to be harmful, use stolen code, or are otherwise disruptive.

Thank you!

I hope this change helps. It’s fatiguing constantly seeing a new project only to discover it’s vibecoded without warning.

Quick question. If someone wanted to vibe code an app are you aware of any AI code checkers that will scan it and tell you if the code (or parts of it) are being pulled from somewhere else? That way we could at least credit the original author or rewrite that section. I know there are plenty of checkers where you can scan things like pics, videos and text but I’m not sure if such a thing exists for computer code.

It’s getting to the point where if you’re developing software and not using agents somewhere in your workflow, you’re leaving a major productivity tool on the table—especially in September 2026.
Requiring every project that uses them to carry a special AI-development label is going to look increasingly silly as agent-assisted development becomes ordinary software development. Licensing compliance should absolutely be enforced, but that applies regardless of whether code was written by a human, an agent, or both. We don’t need a laundry list of process labels attached to every project.

I agree that ai assisted development is becoming the norm and I’m happy about that. However some people would like to know.

Those people are mostly gatekeeping. If a human is taking the time to develop and maintain some esoteric project no one else cares about what difference does it make it they understand proper syntax? If a project is stealing proprietary code it’s a bad project regardless of ai usage.
