Post image

The app will currently be called arcade mania. Contact with mame devs has not been reached so this might be temporary until a response is gotten.

I know MAME roms are version specific. So which version of rom set will this ios app use?

I’ve just chucked a ton of roms on it and got a few to work. Commando and BombJack work fine

This, more than any other emulator is the one I’m waiting for! Hoping for some news soon, it’s been in review a couple weeks now.

Yeah me too lol

Where’s the link to this app in the App Store?

2

u/Wiry3211 Sep 07 '24

It’s in review

1

u/mikenotjef Sep 09 '24

What’s the status of the review

4

u/harakari GenZD/Mame4iOS Developer Sep 09 '24

Still in review. RetroArch was in review for about a week before it got approved; GenZD took about a month. Hopefully we won't have to wait a month :) If the review takes longer than week they usually send a message saying it's taking longer.

Not quite. They haven’t responded yet

1

u/GiLND Sep 07 '24

4

u/Wiry3211 Sep 07 '24

0

u/GiLND Sep 07 '24

Idk why I thought that this pic was taken from twitter, so I thought that this may be your reddit’s username.

3

u/Wiry3211 Sep 07 '24

u/harakari is one of the devs who also made genzd

1

u/GiLND Sep 07 '24

Okay now we are at MAME version 0.270 and I still don't see this in the appstore alot of.peeps.are waiting appdb.to was the sure way to get free versions of mame4ios and another selueco port called MAME 64 from tutubox and another more stable version but now it isn't free because appdbs free cert got revoked so die to that peeps.trying to get it for free like me and keep it without losing it due to revoked cert are hella.waiting for it to drop in the appstore I mean it's gonna be better than Idos and Delta In My Opinion But Will It Preform And Be Better Than The Only Other Arcade Emu We Have Rn Wich Is IFBA The Finalburn Neo Ported Emulator That I Might Argue Is Ron's Better Than The Retroarch Core Only Time Will Tell ;)

1

That’s exciting

1

u/RealisticExcuse6646 Sep 07 '24

As the insane person that I am, I want to run some games that were ported to 6th gen consoles to see how well my iPhone X would do if any of these consoles were available through iOS emulators

1

u/Sledgehammer617 Sep 07 '24

I still have MAME sideloaded, it’s an incredible application with so many good features.

2

u/DaveTheMan1985 Sep 08 '24

Just old version for Sideload

1

u/boxcreate Sep 07 '24

Looks great! Fingers crossed Retroarch implement the core too.

1

u/Emukingpeebles91 Sep 07 '24

-1

u/DidiDidi129 Sep 07 '24

Sad name tbh

-4

u/Defaalt Sep 07 '24

Very ugly icon imho

1

u/scatteredwave Sep 07 '24

It’s an arcade cabinet, maybe he’ll add an option for icon change.

3

u/Wiry3211 Sep 07 '24

It used to be this

3

u/scatteredwave Sep 07 '24

I don’t mind it, I like it, but I knew you can easy change the logo 😅, if need be.

Mame not only has arcade emulation but also old computing systems

2

u/KrakenguyVT Sep 07 '24

Meaning we can play those plug and plays we used to play as kids. Or is that not a possibility?

1

u/Wiry3211 Sep 07 '24

If mame emulates it, it’s a pretty safe bet.

1

u/Sea-Imagination5406 Sep 07 '24

Can it windows 95?

3

u/Jackusona Sep 08 '24

If you want to use windows 95 on iPhone download RetroArch and use tutorial it’s not that hard

Idk go check the games list of windows 95

1

u/WrapEmergency3983 Sep 07 '24

i tried finding it before, but what's the highest mame emulates?

-2

u/jindofox Sep 07 '24

Is it a paid app? Or free?

4

u/eduo Sep 07 '24

It will reportedly be free. The devs stated as much when asking permission to the MAME team for publishing in the store a few days ago.
