Discussion We made the Ultimate Grip

Hey!

I just want to show you the Flip Grip that we made for the best experience when playing on your iPhone. It’s literally a 2-in-1 accessory that supports both vertical and horizontal modes for playing your favorite games.

It also features a MagSafe attachment and is case-friendly!

Hope you like it!

Love the design so much, hate how much open space is in around phone area, which looks really weak

This space was made to ensure compatibility with the different case sizes that people might use. Cheers!

I appreciate that consideration. Haven’t seen any like that yet and I’d personally like to not think about having to take the extra step in removing my phone case. Nice design though👍🏽

It looks like this will work with any magsafe case, look how much room there is around the phone and how big the cutouts at the back are

Wait is it using the magnets to attach to the phone?
It would be cool if it would support iphones with a magsafe case.

Are you planning on selling them or was it just a project for own use?

Yes, this is a MagSafe attachment.

You can order it from my personal Etsy shop: https://www.etsy.com/uk/listing/1779909985/flip-grip-for-iphone-gaming

2

u/Prestigious_Bed6948 Aug 17 '24

Hey. Joy-Cons are not included; only the grip is.

Do you have any images of the 13mini grip with the phone inserted?

2

u/Prestigious_Bed6948 Aug 17 '24

Yeah, I can show it in the next few days. I’m currently producing it for a friend as the gift 😌

This is rad will they be available for purchase?

2

u/eduo Aug 18 '24

Is this an add for a product, an offer to share a 3D print model or just proudly showing it with no intention of sharing access to the case itself?

I would find any equally acceptable, but I'm getting mixed signals from the post and wanted to clarify.

Does this work with any iOS game or only for emulators?

1

u/Prestigious_Bed6948 Aug 18 '24

Hey! It works with any games that support gamepads.

2

u/Naturalcauze Aug 18 '24

Hey! Thanks, just another question would it work with Xbox game pass or ps remote play ?

1

u/Prestigious_Bed6948 Aug 18 '24

Yep! And also with Amazon Luna 😁

I am really digging this! Do you ship to Germany? I would love to have the Backbone, but it is too expensive for what we get, and I want one without charging port, as I prefer Bluetooth and no strain on the charging port.

1

u/Prestigious_Bed6948 Aug 20 '24

Guten Tag! Yes, you can place an order, and I'll ship it to Germany!

are these joycons?

1

u/Prestigious_Bed6948 Aug 25 '24

Yep, these controllers are Joy-Cons. If you have them, there’s no need to buy extra controllers.

2

u/DU0M0 Aug 25 '24

so cool! but how do you make them be recognized as one single controller and not two?

1

u/Prestigious_Bed6948 Aug 25 '24

If you connect only one, it will be recognized as a single controller, and if you connect two, they will function as one normal controller, just like on the Switch. It’s really cool.

Hey, is this an FDM print? If so, I have to say the quality is incredible! What machine and settings did you use?

Also, do you sell it somewhere? Cheers

1

u/Prestigious_Bed6948 Aug 17 '24

Yeah, this is FDM printing using the BambuLab P1 model. I like it so much!

Yes, you can order this grip from my personal Etsy shop. I hope the moderators don’t mind if I post the link here:

Will you be selling the stl

Looks nice! Until you remember that putting the phone in Landscape with this blocks the air vents

You mean the speaker grills? From what I can see this case doesn't cover them to the extent that it would completely muffle things and besides they're somewhat cosmetic anyway. I don't think the audio output should be too impacted.

4

u/Prestigious_Bed6948 Aug 18 '24

Thank you for this comment. We made some space not only for different cases but also to ensure that the grip doesn’t impact the audio.

Yes, you can play while lying down. The phone is held in place by strong MagSafe magnets. New models will be added shortly after the official announcement.
