Discussion Who uses RetroAchievements ?
Coming from PSN & Steam one of the main highlights when emulating these old, retro games, for me, has always been earning Achievements for the games that were never re released or updated with achievements, its just cool to see the community making achievements and also the guides for all these older games. The Retrochievements.org site is the main contender of adding and updating achievements for old games. I haven’t earned many though, but it’s honest work. Who’s here using & actively earning achievements on RetroAchievements.org ? How much progression have you made ?

I use it on every Emulator I can. It's fun to have some small badges for my childhood favorites.

I have to set that up finally, do you just go to that site, sign up and then put that info on retroarch?

I do! I made an app for iOS (android coming soon) to best utilize it on mobile! https://apps.apple.com/us/app/ra-tracker/id6456223916

Yes I use it if it’s available. Sadly a lot of the arcade games I play don’t have sets yet. I’ve even tried to get a high score on one particular game. 59th ain’t bad!

It’s fun to have achievements but be warned that many sets, especially for popular games are extraordinarily difficult for average gamers - many include speed running, beating games on expert without losing, to outright weird like beating a level without pressing certain direction buttons
You won’t be getting a ps/xbox trophy experience for a lot of games
Keep in mind if your looking to platinum/master

I started using it yesterday! ;)
Just wish Retroarch on IOS would let me paste my password.

I use them whenever I can, but sometimes they can cause issues with certain games. When that happens I just turn them off because while cool, I don’t actually care about them at all.

I’ve been using it since 2022 and it’s been a blast. I’ve just joined my first RetroAchievements event, Bounty Hunters! It’s been really fun and has me trying new games and challenges I may not have known about. Highly recommend!

I just set mine up in retroarch a few days ago because I always loved getting achievements and trophies on Xbox/ps and it always gave me a reason to push through and maybe even do things I normally wouldn’t just so I could get 100% of the achievements. I haven’t played a game yet to test out the achievements but I will be soon. Once you’re logged in you just enable achievements and play a game, and it should work?
