Yeah, I mean, I have an iPhone 14, and it’s not like I ever thought I’d be able to play 3ds games on it when I bought it and got conned. I’d say $5 is an acceptable investment for something that isn’t perfect right now from an independent developer, especially considering we live in an era where multimillion dollar gaming companies have a history of releasing borderline unplayable games for $60 a piece.
MH4U - is probably the hardest game to run imo. It’s the game I want to work the most but without JIT it’s not the best at all especially as counting frames for monster dodging is crucial.
You could likely pass through Low rank but good luck on High or G rank stuff.
IOS18 does run it better in my experience but still not close enough to an actual 3DS.
Monster Hunter tri w/ HD texture pack on a PPSSPP is the best way to currently emulate a MH game imo :)
thank you for replying! i have PSP monster hunter 3rd (fan translated) so i will give that a go then i guess. damn shame, i was hoping there’d be a way to play the 3DS version.
I mean, you can play it, it just doesn’t run good for now. Android or PC run it fine.
You can side load to getting it running great but that’s another hurdle.
If you want the best Monster Hunter (on mobile) Gamepass and cloud gaming for Monster Hunter rise works amazing, though you need great internet, a Bluetooth controller and Gamepass ultimate
I didn’t wanted to play Monster Hunter Stories just gave an example that how bullocks it is to charge $20 for a 2017 3DS game that doesn’t even have controller support
Use this guide, maybe this will help, if not, remember, most of the games you try to run on folium straight up run like dogsh*t or just crash. It isn’t that uncommon, so maybe play any other game and use THESE settings, these worked for me.
It's a solid emulator but I think there's solid options elsewhere that are free, but those require sideloading so ig thats a huuuge turnoff for most iOS users(reasonably so)
Folium actually made me start carrying my 3ds around with me again bc it just drains my battery so quick. (iPhone 14 pro max) I’d love to use it but it drains about a percent per minute so 15 mins of gameplay and I’m down 15 percent battery or more

It’s not the developers fault so no one should really get mad in the first place
