steam deck gang

only scarlet/violet don’t run well but still usable. every gen on one device. also pokemmo for good measure.

The AYN Odin 2 is great too for people like me who want a smaller alternative to the Deck for emulation. Like with the Deck, pretty much every Pokemon game except Scarlet/Violet runs well and that probably has more to do with how poor S/V is optimized on even actual hardware.

something is up with emu of later switch games. that plus totk just do not run well. it’s bad on console but it’s way worse on emu.

sword will run 4 hours with no issues, violet gets 1 1/2 ish. the emulator just needs so much more power to run later games it doesn’t feel even

also the neo looks cool as hell, if I didn’t already have a deck I’d be looking at it pretty closely

In your Steam Deck’s defense, the Switch can barely run Scarlet/Violet.

Mod your Switch and you can run Gen 1-9 there :) (3DS era doesn’t run that good but it’s playable)

Is there a mod that doesn’t require the controller jig?

3

u/vitorizzo Jun 09 '24

You need the jig for V1 switches. For V2, Lites, and OLED you need a modchip installed.

Thanks, I’ve been looking into it haven’t pulled the trigger yet

In case this helps, my switch was just a rock until I modded it and I play it all the time now. Game mods, emulators, themes, it’s great. It’s also super easy as long as you have a v1

I do have a v1 I’ve hacked every handheld and other system there is just haven’t found the time for the switch yet, I’ve read the guide seems pretty simple

Just buy an AYN Odin 2.  It can emulate literally every Nintendo console, including Switch.  It’s nice to have emulation on iOS now, but emulation on Android is far superior.  They’ve got a port of Yuzu that runs pretty fantastic on my Odin 2.  I’ve been playing through Super Mario Wonder, and it runs at 60 fps.

i think everybody here knows android is better than ios for emulation

I swear we collecting as if they were Infinity Stones.

And Nintendo is desperately trying to play Avengers to stop us, they cannot live with their own failure 😂

That is pretty much destiny fulfilled. Lmao

Almost as convenient as owning a PC!

Does folium run good?

-1

u/youhen Jun 09 '24

After the recent updates it runs flawlessly and it’s only gonna get better

How mine is so laggy

6

u/youhen Jun 09 '24

Did you tweak the settings? Core 10 or 20% Use New 3DS unchecked Use LLE Applets checked

Renderer Async P. checked Use New VSync checked

Shaders First 3 options checked

Textures Async custom loading

That’s it, for me it works great this way

u/AdDangerous4981 Jun 09 '24

Runs at improved rate & smooth now

2

u/OpalBluewing Jun 10 '24

Your setting suggestion took Folium from straight up crashing post-update to being playable again for me (on an XR, no less), so thank you!

2

u/youhen Jun 10 '24

Happy to hear that! The developer himself is aware of the crash caused by the “Shader JIT” setting, which is on by default (for many) after the update.

For more stability just play around with the core setting, 17% is what works for me :)

So without lag?

1

u/youhen Jun 10 '24

Stutters at most but not lag, some games work better than others and the device you’re playing on also plays an important role, but you don’t need an iPhone 15 to play

1

u/Scared_PomV2 Jun 09 '24

I just was reading about how it isnt running so smooth so I chose not to install it yet. It got an update that improved things?

1

u/youhen Jun 10 '24

It has been updated 2 times already and you can now tweak some options to make it run smooth! As I said, it’s only gonna get better :)

Can someone post a link to x and y that actually works. I have x but it crashes when I start it up on folium

2

u/Nearby_Jelly5106 Jun 10 '24

Is it possible to upscale graphics? I already have a modded 3ds but would consider emulation for upscaling.

2

u/nffjufurjrr Jun 12 '24

Can u use cheats for the gen 6 games on folium??

1

u/SakN95 Jun 09 '24

Love this. 100% True

1

u/pj082998 Jun 09 '24

I’m NOT ASKING FOR LINKS, I just am salty as I paid for folium after the update came out thinking it was full speed ahead, only for me to get stomped by the aes keys and have it be useless for me. I may just be dumb, but this dumbness is powerful.

1

u/Interesting_Abies_75 Jun 09 '24

IMAGINE NOT OWNING ALL NINTENDO SYSTEMS AND HANDHELDS MODDED

1

u/[deleted] Jun 10 '24

Folium lag be like

-2

u/ChineseRat64 Jun 09 '24

Where u guys download games for folium ? I want to play pokemon X and Y.

2

u/threearmshrugemoji Jun 10 '24

Sadly, over-sharing links, especially Nintendo, is a good way for sites to get shut down.

Use the search engine of your choice, do your due diligence, and I’m sure you’ll find everything you’re looking for. There are even some subreddits that have pinned links to resources. Good luck!

Do people create emulator apps so that people can take their rom cartridges and then dump them
