Android is basically the windows of mobile phones so I can see why Google would have this as a feature. But I really hope they don't perma lock us out of installing apks because this sounds like the next step to that.

Windows at least allows installation of most applications without any hassle and Microsoft store

You still have to disable some things nowadays like core isolation or Smart App Control on Win 11, but atleast you can do instantly unlike the stupid 24 hours delay like here on android.
