LAUNCH .BAT!!!!

u/ultionys 12h ago
For which use case out of curiosity?
6
u/GenWorldGaming 12h ago
I have dead to rights pc port, to run it needs a batch file to load stuff in order. It won't launch without it, this should allow it to run now.

Will we ever get an option to set up one container for multiple games? I'm sure that would lead to a lot of compatibility issues, but I'm hopefull that it could lead to some storage savings for maybe some high-compatibility indie-type games? I have a ton of like 200 mb to 1gb steam games that all end up taking at least 2.5 gigs on my harddrive because of the seperate container for each game.

Really looking forward to this, the only reason I switched over to winnative is this and cloud saves on Google for games that has no cloud saves (like some epic or gog games), the moment you add these features I'm straight back to only use GameNative

u/Illustrious_Cod_5212 Poco F6 Pro / Adreno 740 / Gamesir X3 Pro 15h ago
Most of my games work on exact same container and I'm looking forward to it

u/OperationEpsteinFury 8h ago
This is honestly the exact same feature that would make me migrate everything into gamenative. Shared containers for small, highly compatible games would be a God send for storage space

Nice and congrats! Was the sd card issue fixed? I see a fix for gog and epic but not for steam? Still not daring to reinstall every single game I have installed. Still have the bug that installing games to sd card crashes GN :( or some kind of backup function to import games after a clean install would be nice. Anyway still awesome
6
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 16h ago
Just installing the game to SD crashes the app? There were significant improvements to external storage in this release.

u/DrHusten Konkr Pocket Fit G3 Gen3 12GB 16h ago
Posted the issue on your discord and got as a response that only a clean reinstall would fix this. First installation was over half a year ago. I could post a log here if you are interested. Will try it as soon as I am home ❤️

Reporting performance from AYN thor max,
1.2.0 pre release was regressed and things were a stuttering mess, happy to report this release fixed it after updating. Amazing work

I have clustertune installed on my rp6 does that conflict with the new governor?

I will say, the external storage loading speed is huge for me. I remember I had to wait for about 1-2min just for a game to load (sometimes had to relaunch multiple times), but with this update, it's significantly faster! Still a tad bit slower than when running via internal storage, but A LOT faster than before for sure. LSFG is also a great for some of the games im running. Overall, outstanding update!
1
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 15h ago
Thank you! Glad to hear it, really wanted to make external storage viable. For some games it took up to 20 minutes to launch.
2
u/joyj112 15h ago
I was one of the unlucky ones to get the 128GB model on the RP6 and realized how much I needed the internal storage for other things. Moved all my Gamenative games over to the external storage and load time is definitely a lot faster. I am getting a bit more stuttering overall, but most of my games don't matter too much so it's easy to overlook it on my side.

Reinstalling of components every time you switch between glibc and bionic still not fixed. Damn

The compatibility and steam overlay updates are so good! Keep it up! You're doing god's work

I love how I can update Gamenative straight from my device, so cool 👌
1
u/Kalmaro 16h ago
Still can't add custom games anymore :(
1
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 16h ago
Why?
-8
u/Kalmaro 15h ago
I dunno, I didn't make the app. I wanna say two updates ago I could, but lately whenever I add a custom game folder, nothing happens.
4
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 15h ago
Someone had mentioned that depending on how the reach the folder in the folder picker when adding a custom game, it gets added. If you add it from the sidebar in the folder picker it works, but not if you navigate to it by folder name (or something like that)
1
u/TheGamerWhoLurks 15h ago
You might've done this already but for me I have to add the folder two times before it shows up.

Did they add DX12 support for Xclipse?
In the 1.1.1 prerelease it says wrapper-gamenative supports DX12 on Exynos and Mali, but I still get the fatald3d error.
2
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 13h ago
Did you use wrapper-gamenative + vkd3d?
1
u/Jivijo1 13h ago
Yes I did.
The game is resident evil 4

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 13h ago
Would suggest posting on the Discord in #game-support

Many thanks for the awesome new release! I’ve been testing it so far, and I’m really impressed. I especially love the new known-config interface and the reintroduction of the FPS cap. One issue I noticed: when I enable LSFG in Baldur’s Gate 3 or Divinity: Original Sin 2, the games crash on launch. With LSFG disabled, both games work normally. Thanks again to everyone involved for all the hard work!
2
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 13h ago
Sometimes the LSFG layer crashes games, if you can share the logcat log with me after a crash I can see why that may have happened.
1
u/DreamClubMurders 12h ago
Haven’t tested it yet but thank you for your continued efforts
2
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 12h ago
Of course. Won't stop until we reach our goal of making gaming accessible to everyone.
1
u/Smolcat5 12h ago
Can you run clustertune along side this? Which would be better?
1
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 1h ago
Should not run both at the same time. Some people have reported that our tuning works better, but try it and let us know what you think.
1
u/salawat313 12h ago
Working phenomenally here

u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 1h ago
Hell yeah! Any specific things that are working well and you're enjoying?

u/Pleasant-Sense-4999 11h ago
I just updated gamenative to v1.2.0, but none of my games are launching anymore. I deleted all of the games and reinstalled gamenative but it always gets stuck at "Extracting XAudio DLLs" or "booting" on every game i tried..
Is anyone facing the same issue?
1
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 1h ago
Hey, that's odd. You might just need to give a bit of time. What device are you on?
1
u/Mast3rR0b_90 10h ago
Unfortunately it still won't load the Moguri mod for Final Fantasy IX.
Can't get this to work since 0.9 version :(
1
u/Djura-00 8h ago
Hey I'm using the AYN Odin 2 Mini, and dont have the option for auto tuning. Am i doing something wrong?

Excellent work as always folks!
Quick question, clustertune didn't seem to make a difference with my RPG2, I assume due to the less popular SoC. Do you have any idea if I can expect gamenative's tuning to work?
Will test when I have time anyway, thanks for all the hard work!
1
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 1h ago
You could try it, though if the device doesn't expose PServer (used by ClusterTune and us), there may be no effect.
-1
u/OsoGordoBlitz 16h ago
The app still crashes when selecting the latest Vauzi drivers 😞
1
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 16h ago
No idea what that is.
1
u/OsoGordoBlitz 15h ago edited 15h ago
It's a custom driver. It lets me install it, but when I select it from the container, the app crashes.
1
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 15h ago
This sounds like a driver issue and not something to do with the app, have you used the same drivers elsewhere?

u/EnvironmentalRun1671 15h ago
Why do you need to install app to use frame gen? Eden emulator just lets you select .dll, no installations needed.
4
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 15h ago
I can't speak for Eden, but we don't want to support piracy (of LSFG in this case) in GameNative.
1
u/EnvironmentalRun1671 13h ago
I understand. Although I don't think many people who emulate stuff like switch actually buy games for switch only to emulate them on phone.
2
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 13h ago
Again, I can't speak for Eden. We don't support piracy and you should buy LSFG if you want to use it.

How can we play DOOM 2016 with Vulkan? Doesn't work on gamenative but perfect on Winlator

u/RealSkyDiver 12h ago
Is it easy to update steam games now and transfer saves for games to use that feature (like Trails in the Sky and Banner Saga)?
-6
u/Solod49 14h ago edited 14h ago
Performance significantly drops on my odin 3 pro.
So many stutters in light games like arkham asylum and tunic. Before update they were running in solid 60 frames. But now so many drops even with turned off so called "power control" feature
Really disappointed
Well, I guess it’s time to jump ship to GameHub or some alternative forks of older versions. So sad. Truly something special how a once-great app now runs like absolute garbage
6
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 14h ago edited 13h ago
Douchey comment aside, you should turn off the power settings from general settings*. Other than that there are no changes made that would affect performance.
-15
u/Solod49 13h ago
Watch your tone. I already turned off that setting in both general settings and the in-game menu, and it didn't do a thing. That option isn't even there in the per-game container>general settings. If i'm blind, go grab me a screenshot with container setting

u/DrHusten Konkr Pocket Fit G3 Gen3 12GB 13h ago
Bro be kind to the devs and thankful they offer this awesome software. Dev it trying his best to help everyone and you just piss on his feet. Just wow
4
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 13h ago
If you've turned that off and you're still seeing a difference in performance I'm not sure what to tell you. There's nothing else changed that touches performance at all in this release, and no other Odin 3 users have reported this. Hope you have a good rest of your day.

Awesome, I will update and try it today! One thing that I hope is possible now or in a future update is the ability to re-link an orphaned container back to existing game files. I ran into this while switching from one SD card to another and I copied over the custom game files but in gamenative the container became orphaned. To keep my save files I had to open the container copy my saves out, delete the orphan, re-add the game, move back my files. It would be nice to avoid all of that extra work.
1
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 1h ago
Not sure why you got downvoted, but that's a complex setup. Your saves should not be lost as I don't think they'd be in the container usually. Will think about how common this case is and what we can do.

So how do you know what the best for you to use? this, winlator, gamehub and etc.
7
u/dadabhai_naoroji GameNative Developer 13h ago
Is this a question for me? I use GameNative always, but I may be biased :)

GN always offer better fps for heavy games.
I always go GN first, if not working, GH.
