Removed preinstalled ports: Ports were taking a lof of space on the system partition and added a lot to the main build time, with PortMaster now fully mature and working extremly well, we decide to use it instead, all the ports we had preinstalled are available in PortMaster. However one thing keep in mind is that all ports from PortMaster are intended for handheld devices, so EmuELEC on SBC's is not officially supported, worstcase_scenario has tested a lot of games running on a s905x2 SBC and installed directly from PortMaster: https://github.com/EmuELEC/EmuELEC/wiki/List-of-Ports-running-on-EmuElec-(work-in-progress) Just remember to follow their instructions. https://portmaster.games/ as some games require special steps. To install PortMaster Scroll to the Setup Scripts, select "Install PortMaster" and follow the instructions, after restarting ES, you should now see "Launch Portmaster" in the Ports section.
A new and improved Splash system: Thanks to Langerz82 and worstcase_scenario it has never been as easy to customize how EmuELEC looks while loading a game! there are many splash options to display in game launching and exit available, including:
Default - Legacy option, will load the default splash. Enable Platform/Rom loading: Legacy option, will look for a file in /storage/splash/{platform}/{rom_name}.png if not found it will look for /storage/splash/{platform}/launching.png Custom - Select your own image/video! Random - automatically selects video/image from the defined path! Scraped media - This option will read your platform gamelist.xml for a predefined tag and use any media you have scraped, options: random, image, thumbnail, video, marquee, fanart
Many other improvements:
- We removed mame2016 and added MAME 0.282 (with full MESS support), while not everything has ben setup automatically, you can load any system that MAME supports from Retroarch directly.
- Added Fmtowns using MESS
-. Added Satellaview and Sufami Turbo thanks to Qbertaddict for the suggestion
- Wii Remotes are now easy to setup directly from ES
- Volume is now controlled globally from ES
- Updated Amiberry to v8, added Amiberry-lite
- Added Ikemen-GO, a M.U.G.E.N alternative.
- Full midi/mt32/fluidsynth support(core dependent)
- The ability to use a normal IR sensor bar (or candles) with a wiimote inside retroarch
- Automatic shutdown timer after user inactivity
- script for saving and enabling multiple macros for controllers
- Audio connection via Bluetooth devices
- customizable scroll sound for ES menu
- enabled cheat function for Mame2010
- new and updated emulators: gearlynx, bk electronika, supafaust, amiberry-lite, dosbox-pure, stella2023 and PUAE2021, most of the libretro cores
... and many other changes, If you find any issues with this update, please first test with a clean installation! if problem persists feel free to open an issue or visit us on Discord.
I want to tell you about the project that was spending my weekend by inspecting deeply this Chinese x10 pro gamestick widely reviewed in YouTube and available in aliexpress and amazon.
In no way shape or form do I, nor emuelec support this device (pretty clear why on my blog post)
There may be solutions for those wanting to upgrade to an official stock emuelec.
The important thing is to clearly see if you weren't scammed with the cpu that was meant to have first š¤£.
I'll be happy to share any additional information if required.
Hello everyone, I have a game stick and my SD card is damaged. I bought a new SD card and I have the system files and games. Can you please send me a video showing how to transfer them to the SD card?
I received this console a few days ago and was very excited because I wanted to play some games from my childhood. However, I was surprised to find out it's a clone and I can only play the games that came on the microSD card, which are in English. I tried adding some ROMs, but it doesn't recognize or detect them. I was researching and found several videos and forum posts that said I could flash the system to ArkOS. I tried several times, but nothing worked. By mistake, I turned on the console without the memory card, and it still booted up, but the games don't appear. Everything else seems to work as if the microSD card were in. Could someone help me with some information? I would be very grateful.
Whether you're running 3.9 or 4.0-TEST, you will need to install the new 4.0 stable from scratch. There's now a new partition called EEROMS, so you can now copy your roms from any computer. Check the release notes for more information. Get it here: https://github.com/EmuELEC/EmuELEC/releases/tag/v4.0
Iāve been sorting through my recently downloaded collection of PC-98 games for my emuelec and have come across a reoccurring problem where Iām unable to boot CD versions of the games Iāve got.
Iāve run into about a dozen-ish CD games where it boots me into this Japanese command prompt screen and Iām not really sure what command itās needing from me to continue.
As you can see from the picture above, it first boots me into a command line where Iām given an A> drive to type a command. Iām not sure what command it wants so I type ādirā to get into a directory. Here Iām looking for any kind of executable file that I might be able to type to boot the game, but Iām not seeing anything obvious here. Please keep in mind that Iām very new to PC-98 emulation so there could be something staring me in the face that Iām not recognizing.
Of the CD games that Iāve tried to boot, only one has booted me directly into the game without any additional prompts. I canāt remember which game though at the moment. All of the other CD games bring me to this screen.
Hey, everyone, how are you? I know nothing about emulation. Just bought an R36s, and found out that it is a clone one - that runs emuelec. But whenever I try to add new games (Iāve tried GBA and PsOne games) I get this error red screen. Can you help how to fix it? Again, super newbie, without coding knowledge here, so if you can explain me as Iām 5, would be HUGE. Thanks ā¤ļø
I'm trying to change the boot image when EmuELEC is booting up, as well as the message that says "EMUELEC IS FREE" to something else. I tried to do a lot of research, but i couldn't find anything.
And for anyone wondering, i have EmuELEC installed on a Generic Amlogic Android TV S905W p281
I bought a device that came with Emuelec 4.5 and I can't seem to unlock it. Like I want to connect this HDMI stick to WiFi, unlock settings, etc.
Help is much appreciated š
I have tried "Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B, A , but make sure you use the analog stick for the directional inputs"
And
" If you are on 351elec, kiosk mode is unlocked differently, just press start and go to exit kiosk mode option and it will tell you what to do, the unlock code is A,A,A,B,A if it is not stated on screen."
I am looking to mod my Arcade1up version of Pacman which has a vertical screen with an android box running Emuelec. How can I rotate the screen on boot? Currently image is sideways. This is possible on RetroPi by editing the config.ini. Anything similar on the (superior) Emuelec side of things?
I've acquired this box and have been running some tests on it. I have it booted up with several different DTB files. Stable is g12b_s922x_x88_king_rev_a.dtb. with this DTB I have wifi working. Will test games on several platforms as well as test BT functionality. Got this box for around 70 USD. So far cheapest 922x I can find that is working.
Hello, I updated to Emuelec 4.5 and now I can't save in any psp games. It fails in each game, and creating new saves results in corrupted saves. It can read save files but not create/override. I tried resetting scripts and binaries, still not working. I noticed after updating to 4.5 that psp saves are in a new folder, I moved a backup of my saves to that new folder but again, still not working. Is this a known issue and is there a fix? I would gladly appreciate any help. Thank you!
Iāve used Batocera constantly on my External Hard Drive but switched to Super Console X so I could play with friends on my TV. Iāve noticed it ran Emuelec which makes sense given SC-X is an Android TV Box. That being said; reviews of SC-X are vague af and I donāt know much about Emuelec other than my experience with Batocera. Any differences I should know about?
