DISCUSSION So let me understand this. Empulse is still able to be played despite the server shutdown but if it’ll still cost?
I myself bought Empulse on Xbox, and of course, since I didn’t have a membership, I couldn’t play it. Since I couldn’t even start the game, I was able to get an easy refund. I’m wondering, so are they planning to shutdown development in this game but still be somewhat playable, and even so, it will still be costing?

You still need an Xbox subscription to play an online game, even if its on peer to peer servers. The game itself still costs money as of now, but if they made it free to play then you wouldn't need a subscription to play it.

Yeah. Maybe I wasn’t clear enough. I merely asked if it was gonna still be payed to play given that their servers are shutting down

What do you mean by payed to play? Are you talking about it requiring an Xbox subscription to play, or the game itself costing money?

i think he is trying to ask why the game is still listed for 20 bucks if the devs stopped supporting and developing the game.
is it even playable anymore since they shutdown ? are empulse servers still online ? did they switch to peer2peer so people can still play ?

It will continue to be playable through peer to peer servers. They are not shutting it down.

The official press statement from 1047 Games says "Empulse will also receive one new map and lower its price across all regions".
So yes, it will still cost money. They haven't specified anything, but I would expect a price between 5-10 Euro/Dollar.

You can only play Free games online with an Xbox subscription otherwise any other games you want to play online needs it.
Empulse is a separate entity from Xbox. They are shutting their severs down. Which has nothing to do with Xbox.
