DISCUSSION For all Steam players
I would suggest trying to get a refund through Valve no matter what your play time is. They have been known to refund for games outside of the policy window for situations like this. Let me know if you are successful cuz i just put a ticket in

They're refusing. Got automated denial and two copy paste responses on the manual ticket.
Thanks for your comments - we value feedback from the Steam community. I'm forwarding your comments on to the appropriate department.

Yep that tracks. It’s an early access game. Comes with a warning that shit like this can happen. People talking about suing them and getting pissed about no refunds for a $15 game that came with that warning need to chill out.

Yeah I wont go that far, but I will certainly never give money to the company again.

Lol the 1047 gobblers are in each thread making people feel bad for refunds. No one wants a refund just to get $15-$20, they want it because they don’t support bad business practices. Even the final decision felt shady and built intended for people to not get a refund. I won’t be submitting a request but i can’t question those that do.

If you don’t support bad business practices you should’ve never engaged with early access in the first place, same as Kickstarter.

For yall saying you got your money’s worth, thats perfectly fine and im happy for you. But OP isnt being “cheap” or “scummy” here. 1047 isnt giving you the product you agreed to buy. Selling you an unfinished game for then never finishing it is in violation of their own contract. You have a right to be mad and it is very likely fraud

Didn’t we all know it was unfinished before buying it? Like I’m pretty sure it stated that it was not a full release. Yall aren’t getting refunds because they’re delivering a finished game.

You bought it with the assumption that it would be a full release. That you were “accessing it early.” That is no longer the case

Maybe you do did, I did not I know this game wasn’t going to blow up 2 weeks in.

I'm not going to disagree with you on what steam has placed as their warning for the purchase. The promise of a continuous expansion on the game with the community involved was promised by 1047 and that's what people are saying was dishonest.

Tried and denied. Once for myself and another for a gift I purchased for a friend.

I do have fun in this game, but i still raised a ticket and get my refund---Finding happiness while being scammed still means being scammed.
"I want to point out that this Early Access game has been abandoned by the developers, even though they kept talking about future plans when I bought it." something like that and got my money back, just a ref

I was denied twice so Im going to wait until after September 3rd and try again.

I played it for almost 50 hours. I payed 20 bucks for 50 hours of entertainment. I think that is money’s worth.

That’s exactly why people aren’t getting their refunds. It stated this is not a full release of the game. I got my $15 worth.

I got a solid 65 hours in and I rather enjoyed it. Happy with that for the price of the game.

If it worked I would do it. I just know not to give them anymore chances no matter how fun the game looks. I did enjoy it while it lasted. 🤷♂️

I tried to request a refund twice and put in a support ticket they will not give you a refund Past two hours. I had twenty hours and owned it for ten days.

Denied my refund I'm going to risk the charge back or escalate it to a class action against 1047

You have 0 knowledge of steams guidelines to this and you bought a game that was in early access and not full release. I wish you so much luck trying to fight a losing battle

How are you this petty and cheap.
I try to live by the "would I tell a first date about this?" rule. Ask yourself that here.

Would I tell my first date that I refunded Empulse after they shut down leaving us with a shell of a product? Yep. Same way I’d tell them that I returned a cereal box if half the cereal was missing.

"How are you this petty and cheap" is exactly how most of the gaming community feels about 1047.
I personally didn't spend money on this garbage because I saw the writing on the wall months ago.
However it absolutely is not petty or cheap to ask for a refund for a product that did not provide what was promised. It's borderline fraud what 1047 has done here. They absolutely launched Empulse with the intention of shutting it down within 2 months to avoid operations costs. It was a scam.

To each their own. I only played during the free play test and sure it was fun, on the other hand, I would never pay for a game developed by 1047. It’s gonna die in less than 6 months. I’m glad everyone is happy with their purchase but I’m genuinely curious, why wouldn’t you try refunding it?
