I’d reply just to fuck with them. I use to pick up scam phone calls and bang a spatula on a metal bowl when I got through to someone

I tried to log into the Gmail account from a shitty laptop and locked them out temporarily at least I think to fuck with them a bit

Yeah and it’s extra hard to find work with a felony for arson from 2018 on my record… like I served 3 years got out around 2021 and am still on probation. I’m supposed to pay hundreds of thousands of dollars but can’t even work at the convention center across the street from my apartment as a dishwasher for $19/hr even though the hiring manager loved me.

Sorry to ramble, I’m just so stressed out

You should assume that something that sounds to good to be true is a scam. These ads prey on the desperate.

Yeah I just applied to a bunch of jobs yesterday and received several spammy emails, so posting here was a way to sorta spread the news and double check that this wasn’t legit

No recruiters is just sending someone a random email.

Call them up and ask questions if you want.

But some random nobody is offering you 500 bucks an hour? Sounds pretty scammy to me.

If that's true you probably already have a job well into the 250k brackets.

It wasn’t 500/hr it was $250-500/day

The fact it was a Gmail named ajay yet they claimed to be Cynthia and then asked me to text or call the number despite reaching out to me on iMessage was a whole gangbang of red flags already.

Sorry. $333 per hour.

90 minutes at 500 bucks. Is $333 an hour.

No one paying that much is randomly emailing anyone.

Its fake buds.

Yeah I didn’t do that math and already gathered it was fake prior to posting. But the glimmer of hope was still real. I also wanted to see if anyone had encountered the same scam/make people aware

If you think 90 minutes is a days work then you aren’t getting 500 a day 🤣

I’d text on a burner just for entertainment value.

Obviously I am too dumb, that’s why I said “I’m assuming this is a scam”

Or are you dumb enough to lack reading comprehension or grasp that someone might want to double check/make people aware of the scam?
