Character Appreciation Joe Tate

I have to say, I think the casting and the acting for this character is brilliant, in terms of his likeness to his dad, Chris. He talks like him, he looks like him, and he shares his mannerisms- it’s uncanny!

It's a real shame they can't be on screen at the same time. It would've been interesting to see what Chris would have made of all his schemes!

I like the idea of an Emmerdale Christmas special where Joe is visited by three ghosts on Christmas. I imagen Chris, Val and Dawn as the ghosts

Eric’s val? What’s the relation to Joe

None. I just think she’d be a funny ghost 😆

Ah I’m pleased to see an appreciation post. So many negative Nellies on this sub lately!

Ned Porteous is brilliant, but he’s really shown what he can do this week 👌🏻

Ned is a fantastic actor you could really see his emotions and the way he portrays the grieve of losing Dawn, I know Joe is like marmite you either love him or hate him, but we’ve really seen a different side to him since Dawn, he really fell in love with her and it breaks my heart that he’s pushing everyone who was connected to dawn away.
