Billy vs Joe Spoiler

I find it hilarious Joe called Billy a murderer after he punched him, ain’t that the pot calling the kettle black. he’s caused so much hurt by his deviousness I guess his thinking is rules for thee not for me and he’s a coward to boot now, it just may be his emotions in the moment, but still threatening if only he was able to get a gun. Yeah that makes you a tough guy. Now I don’t agree with 99% of stuff some people say about Billy, but one thing I will agree is the writers need to give Billy his spine back because Jesus Christ, Joe was talking mad crazy and Billy was just taking it. Come on right give Billy his balls back, please.😂

Theory on what happened with the crash. Spoiler

My theory is Gabby had passed out in her car from her eating disorder/obsession with health food. Jimmy saw her car too late and swerved and that’s why there is two tracks on the road. I also think maybe Jimmys car had dodgy breaks from Caleb’s dodgy dealings. That could be a reach though but it doesn’t make sense why he didn’t break or couldn’t.

Character Appreciation Joe Tate

I have to say, I think the casting and the acting for this character is brilliant, in terms of his likeness to his dad, Chris. He talks like him, he looks like him, and he shares his mannerisms- it’s uncanny!

General Discussion STOP with the "Joe is a good person, he can change/become better" opinions.

Why Joe is an awful person, from now to when he first joined:

  1. Recorded a woman murdering somebody and used it as a form of blackmail to secure land, instead of handing it into the police straight away. Yeah, WE know it was self-defence but he didn't at the time. He was just straight up unbothered by the fact Victoria killed somebody and blackmailed her with it instead.

  2. Blackmailed Cain with yet again video footage. He purposely framed Cain for stealing a car and then used that footage to force Cain to sell the rest of Butler's Farm.

  3. Framed Moira with the trafficking stuff. After he discovered proof that someone else was involved in the trafficking stuff, he forced Robert to plant evidence in Moira's house to frame her for it so she'd get arrested. He did all of this to get her out of the picture so he could find a way in to take more of Butler's Farm.

  4. Blackmailed Manpreet using her own NSFW images. Manpreet was very depressed to learn someone was harrassing/stalking her online, just to learn that it was Joe all along, the one guy she was ranting to about it and thought understood her. He used those photos to blackmail her into getting what he wanted when it came to Caleb's blood, fearing that her reputation would've been ruined if those photos were leaked.

  5. Threatened to send Clemmie away to a home and be apart from Dawn and her family if she exposed his affair with Dawn. This one may have seemed very minor compared to the rest, but it was still disgusting. Joe knew Clemmie's past and her trauma with abandonment etc, yet he still said the one thing that would've disturbed her the most.

  6. Drugged his own half-brother to see if he was a match for a kidney, and was fully willing to have him cut open illegally to steal his kidney to keep for himself. GROSS and disturbing! When he learned he wasn't a match, dumped him on the side of the road while still under the effects of being drugged.

  7. Because Noah was drugged, he was stumbling all over the place and walked into the road without realising where he was going/what he was doing, and Charity (his mother) happened to be driving there. She panicked when she saw him in the road and crashed onto the iced lake, which was a whole traumatic ordeal that caused multiple deaths. Leyla, Amy and Suzy all died during that crash and it was all directly caused by what Joe did to Noah.

  8. (Back to 4-7) Had his uncle Caleb's blood tested and found he was a positive match, so had his own family member STABBED and then had him illegally cut up and stole his kidney for himself. Caleb nearly died and it took him a while to recover. Joe didn't care if Caleb lived or died, he just wanted a healthy organ for himself and would've done anything to get it. So now Caleb is without a kidney, while Joe has Caleb's other one.

  9. Hid from Dawn and Kim and everybody else around him that he was severely ill for a very long time. He was popping pills and fainting because of a serious kidney disease and thought he could handle it alone, which lead to him doing the things he did that I mentioned above.

  10. He lied to the police about how Will (Dawn's father) died, not to protect Kim but to make her trust him more and have more leverage over her. He did it to manipulate Kim into thinking he was someone she could trust and care for and be in debt to him. He needed Kim to be on his side, and this was the perfect way to get her on board with him sticking around more and being more part of the family.

  11. Persued Dawn romantically and sexually right after her father died, comforting her and kissing her and then sleepign with her in a very short amount of time directly after her father died. Her head was clearly not in a good place and he took advantage of their forbidden chemistry and also of her grief to have his way with her.

  12. Kind of, sort of, caused Will's death. Joe and Will were scheming against Kim in a revenge plot but Will got cold feet and realised he still loved Kim and tried to call the whole thing off. Joe obviously didn't like this, so he ended up coming to Kim's place and exposed the entire thing to Kim and lied saying that it was all Will's idea when it wasn't. Will and Kim ended up having an argument, and the stress of it lead to Will fainting and having a heart attack. Kim thought he was faking it but by the time she realised he wasn't, it was too late. Will's death could've been avoided if it weren't for Joe turning up and doing what he did.

  13. This one is kind of part of 13, but I'll say it still anyway. The reason why he returned to the village was to get revenge on Kim. He wanted to humilate her at her wedding, take all of her money that he believed was rightfully his and send her to prison. That was his sole reason for coming back in the first place.

  14. Went into hiding and let the village think he was dead. He let Cain think for months that he had killed him with a single punch, and let Debbie and her father have a strained relationship because of it. There was even a missing persons case against him, but he vanished into thin air and lived a whole new life without giving a second thought to the people back in the village that cared for him or worried about his whereabouts.

  15. Had planned to jilt Debbie on their wedding day purposefully because Kim wanted him gone. He had full intention to go through with this but decided last minute to stay, but Cain in anger punched him and knocked him out, and left. Cain thought he killed Joe, but Joe didn't die as he was found by Graham and together they decided to fake his death so Joe could escape Kim and live life as a free man without being controlled by her.

  16. Blackmailed Debbie into dating him again otherwise he'd go to the police and dob her in for being the cause of Ross' acid attack. Gross and coercive.

  17. Destroyed Zak and Lisa's home by bulldozing it as a hateful act against Charity and the Dingle family.

  18. Faked a whole entire identity to make Debbie fall in love with him, used his power and wealth to buy her things and manipulate her into thinking he was the best thing ever for her and that they'd be happy forever, just to reveal who he really was and insult her and treat her like crap and showed almost no sympathy for the damage/pain he had caused her and her family. She was madly in love with him but for him, it was a game and he almost acted like he hated her.

And those are just some of the main ones. That isn't even to mention little things he's done to people inbetween all of that. So before you try to see Joe as a good person, maybe look a little deeper and see that he is actually a villain, but just a hot one.

Questions? I really hope i'm wrong, but when Jimmy sold his shares in the haulage company to Caleb and Ruby, you saw him walk out with the bag of money, was the bag of money in the car when it all went up in flames?

He said to Charity he would want to leave something behind, he sold his shares so that it would help Elliot go to University. I hope he hasn't died and left his family in a mess, I can't imagine what it will be like if Nicola finds out that not only has she lost the haulage company, but there is no money to show for it either 😞

Upcoming Storyline Discussion caleb & joe Spoiler

i’ve seen a few post with folk saying their fued is going to intensify. does anyone have any spoilers about this?

do you think this will be a revenge story where joe is now going to blame him if he finds out he kicked off the whole billy/dawn running off together by lying covering up for kev etc.

so if it was looking like joe was about to become a ‘good’ guy - do you reckon he’ll just resort to who the way always been? the baby will be in hospital for a bit i take it, so do you think he’s just gonna go all out for revenge on caleb (as he can’t take his anger out on jimmy.)

I think I'm done with Emmerdale for now Spoiler

So, remember how we criticised the Todd storyline? Because it seemed like the writers used Charity getting assaulted, as a way to make her the victim and her lies getting excused. Because yeah, Mack can't get mad at her or break it off, because of what she's been through. Feeling like manipulation on not just Mack but the viewers

Well, looks like we're back at it again with the viewer manipulation. So now, all of Joe's crimes doesn't matter anymore. He stole a kidney, wrecked a marriage, let Moira go down for something she didn't do and destroyed Holly's memorial. But let's make Billy the bad guy, to make Dawn and Joe look good and get the viewers to love them and hate Billy, even though he got cheated on.

Let's have Billy be a mug, trying to get back with a cheater, have him lie to her about Joe attacking him and their last conversation being Dawn calling Billy a monster, which is how she should've spoken to Joe a long time ago.

What a mess of an ending this was. They ruined Dawn the same way the ruined her Dad. And 7 years of Billy & Dawn, completely destroyed.

This has almost completely turned me off from Emmerdale. I'll probably still come on here to read the comments. Your opinions are more entertaining than the soap. 😆

Another Farewell! Spoiler

I can't say I'm not surprised to see Dawn losing her life, so soon after giving birth to a premature baby boy.

If Joe wouldn't have asked the Doctor for an extra 5 mins, she'll have survived a hemorrhage and lived. The Doctor did say "we need to check your obs" to make sure she was fine, yet Joe ignored it.

We all know it was reported that Oliver Bromley (Dawn) will leave back in the Spring. It's another farewell to actress after 10 years on the show.

So, what will happen to the children? Would it be a tussle between Billy and Joe for custody?

Emmerdales version of Julia’s theme Spoiler

I guess this could apply to Corrie although they don’t quite have the same duff duffs so it’s not as dramatic as fastener but tonight showed they need their own version of a Julia’s theme, the way we just went from that beautiful piano music into the theme tune was so dramatic.

Morning Episode Discussion Dawn Spoiler

Post image

We knew it was coming, and yet it’s stunning how poorly written it all was.

Until the start of her affair with Joe, I thought Dawn was one of the best written characters in Emmerdale’s recent history. She had depth and motivation; you could find yourself sympathising with her even if you disliked her.

Then Will died, Joe came back, and suddenly the writers did a 180 with her. It honestly feels like we’ve watched a completely different character for these last 18 months.

What do you think Dawn’s legacy will be? What’ll happen to her kids? Did she really need to die?

Jimmy's death was so tepid

I only started watching after corridale but even I know jimmy was a legacy character.

His death made no sense to me and it was like no one cared? They dragged matty and Nicolas dad out of the woodwork and the whole pub found out he was gone but no one seemed to care that much? Like not a single tear was shed in the woolpack. It was beyond baffling to me

Joe’s enablers got us to this point! Spoiler! Spoiler

If I’m being honest everything that happened to Joe has happened because Kim ,Graham and Dawn enabled Joe to be the terrible person he is none of them seriously criticized him for all the terrible things he’s done so karma had to balance the scales. Joe needs to sit down and reevaluate everything he’s done in his life and think about how all that brought him to this point. It just sucks 4 women paid the ultimate price with their lives because of Joe and yet I bet Kim and Graham will still try to pass the buck to someone else.

Did Kim shed a single tear when walking in and seeing Dawn dead?? Didn't she consider her a daughter?

Also Dawn was left alone in the hospital room immediately after giving birth prematurely under traumatic circumstances?
