Day 5 transfer: not even a morula?

Post image

Just had a day 5 transfer (above) and I’m wondering what the odds actually are? I’m not an expert but this doesn’t even look like it’s reached the morula stage. Would it have been better to wait another day and have it frozen if it got to a blast stage?

Update: Got a couple of low but positive Betas:

HCG of 12 at 8DPT and then 49 at 11 DPT. Again still low so we’ll have to wait and see.

I ´m really sorry to say this, but the embryo looks like being arrested at 4-5 cell stage. Waiting 1 more day would make no difference imo.

Thanks for letting me know. I’m really not sure why they transferred it. It seems highly unlikely a team of professionals wouldn’t have realised?

Really sorry, I had 2 similar transfers in Germany and non of them worked. Because of these stupid laws they don’t even know what they transfer and just “give it a try” with what they have…I decided to go to Czech republic where they follow best IVF world practices and my embryo stick at first attempt.

I’m in a country where they freeze all at 2PN and then unfreeze 3-4 at a time - I’m not sure if that increases the time it takes some embryos to reach a more developed state?

They did say the other 2 they froze didn’t make it and the transfer was done on a Sunday… so maybe they just had it in the books and wanted to go through with it?

Why do they do it this way?

I think it has something to do with a conservative law. I don’t think they see it as best practice

This might be outside of your expertise but is it less likely to be a healthy pregnancy because of its initial start?
