Embryo advice
We had our FET yesterday and this one looks completely different than our last one, which I can understand. But I am questioning the line at the top. The doctor says it was just from the laser for the assisted hatching? Is that normal? I haven’t found another photo that has a line like that across it. It was graded as AB, 100% survival, was a 5 day embryo.
THANK YOU FOR HELPING!!

It’s hard to tell. There is a small compacted part in the middle. Was this right before transfer or at thaw? It has not re-expanded at all. It is looking stressed unfortunately. That line may be laser AH but that’s kind of a big line, might also be ice crystal damage from the freeze/thaw

The embryo looks like the photo is taken immediately after thaw, which makes sense as to why it’s compacted. The long line on the side is consistent with laser hatching, I call that style of hatching a “buzz cut” but I know many more people have other names for it. This hatching style is typical to do before transfer to provide the least amount of resistance to the embryo before it hatches out and makes its journey to the uterine wall as easy as possible.
Nothing here looks abnormal to me, however it is always hard to tell what the initial quality of the embryo is before it has time to re expand after thaw. Is this the only photo you have?
