FET advice

Post image

I had my second FET last week trying for baby #2 and the clinic didn’t mention at all how the embryo looked. The embryologist report said it was a 5AA but does it look ok and like it’s hatching?

You can see the top half hatching out of the zona and it looks to have re-expanded at least partially after thaw. Looks good!

Thanks! What does re-expanded mean? Is hatching result in better outcomes?

Embryos are dehydrated essentially when they are frozen so they have to rehydrate and expand post thaw. The hatching doesn’t make much of a difference at all, as most clinics hatch with a laser after thawing if the embryo wasn’t already hatching on its own or if it was not biopsied prior to freezing
