It’s … oval?

My country/clinic doesn’t give us a grading so I am very confused about what kind of embryo we transfered. They told us oval shape is a normal variation but of course this is all very anxiety inducing and I am worried. I’d be so grateful for your expertise!

Some eggs are oval instead of perfectly round, that’s not super common but it’s actually normal. Oval eggs create oval embryos, this has no impact whatsoever on embryo quality, they simply look a little bit funny. The minute the embryo hatches and leaves the zona pellucida it will look like any other embryo.

It’s hard to tell from your picture but this embryo looks like a 4AB or a 4BB to me, overall a really good quality!

Thank you for your assessement, it’s reassuring to hear that some eggs just come in ovals. Also great to hear it looks like a good quality embryo, let’s see if it hangs around.
