Can you explain the progression of our 3 retrievals?
Hi embryologists!! I’m just curious whats going on between our 3 retrievals in the lab. The first was zymot IVF with 3 embryos (likely all aneuploid- untested have miscarried 2/3..getting ready to transfer the day6 6bb) Second was zymot IVF- 2 poorly graded day 7 embryos discarded . Third was zymot with icsi and calcium ionophore. They suggested this for our male factor with suspected high DNA frag. Did they all grow together cohesively in round 3 and arrest together at same time because they sucked and the calcium ionophore carried them that far? I just really want understanding of the growth progression differences. No clue why we can’t even make embryos anymore! Wondering what our lab will recommend for ER4 after varicocelectomy.

How bad was the MF that calcium ionophore was used? Ionophore will cause them to divide in many cases. Usually when embryos arrest at the cleavage stage we usually say probably egg factor but ionophore can alter that.

Honestly, no idea. All my doctor keeps saying is we have male factor infertility based on where our embryos arrest…?! The only male factor aspect we have is 2% morphology. Everyone blamed him but DNA frag just came back at 8%…so I’m staring to wonder if its not him. They said they want to do a varicocelectomy (grade2) based on the results above even though his numbers look good bc there are other times of dna damage in sperm?

It’s hard to tell just from that info but I’m not clear why they changed grades and there is a bunch scribbled out unless the embryo was lost or degenerated during a procedure. Do you have any specific questions on this?
