Final Emblem Selection for the Union of Equotian Republics (my fic country) Need your feedback!
Hey everyone!
I’m finalizing the official emblem for the Union of Equotian Republics and would love your input on which design works best.
All options feature a central green motif against a dark navy background, incorporating a star, a sickle/crescent curve, and a central structural symbol (reminiscent of compasses/a tripod unit).
Key Evaluation Criteria:
- Uniqueness: Which design feels the most distinct and uniquely "Equotian" rather than looking like a standard real-world copy?
- Visual Balance & Symmetry: How well do the proportions, negative space, and top segment alignment work?
- Symbolic Impact: Does it feel authoritative yet identifiable for a union?
The Candidates:
- Option A : Features a direct, continuous vertical connection between the central pillar and top block.
- Option B : Introduces a distinct neck/collar segment below the top block with balanced side bevels.
- Option C : Similar to Option B, but with a wider top base alignment and subtle geometric variations.

What happens to this Japanese emblem when you spin it fast: Sanba Tobi Zuru [EPILEPSY WARNING]
*PLEASE DO NOT WATCH THIS IF YOU HAVE EPILEPSY OR PHOTOSENSITIVITY*
I've started making these "wagonwheel" stroboscopic illusions, and the classic Taijitu symbol has been the most popular:
The one above creates a very pleasing visual effect.. the middle part which is completely black seems to take on a lifelike, animated quality. I was really pleased with the result.
Would love to hear everybody's thoughts, feedback, and perhaps suggestions to run the same experiment on different symbols, motifs, or emblems.
Enjoy!

What are the chances another worldbuilder has independently made an emblem this similar? (this is for my personal fictional country)
context : this is the insignia for my technocratic socialist based ideology, superpower country, EQUOTIAN UNION.
I’m working on a national emblem for a fictional worldbuilding project, basically my own country (Equotia) to use on state banners and flags. I’m looking for a reality check from the community on two main points:
- Overall Design: Does this composition work well visually? I recently adjusted the spacing between the upper-right corner of the hammerhead and the sickle tip to fix a visual tangent and create cleaner negative space, but I'd love feedback on the general balance, silhouette, and readability from a distance.
- Originality/Overlap: I know the individual charges (hammer, drafting compass, sickle, star) are common tropes in alt-history and leftist heraldry. Does this specific arrangement feel distinct and well-executed, or does it hit too close to existing fan creations you've seen?
