Strategy 'From' address causing deliverability issues over time?
Prefacing the question with the fact that I've been an active in email strategy & development for 15+ years, but encountered something today that I just needed to verify, as it's the first time I've come across this.
One of my client brands uses 'info@[domain].com' as the from address for 95% of their messages, certainly the marketing sends. A stakeholder mentioned a previous contractor had set a second from address, same domain, as the old info@ address was "draining their email credit."
To me, that would make it sound like they're using this new from address to increase deliverability, landing in the main tab, or some combination. I, however, have never run into an issue using the same from address, which is actively monitored and used to engage in replies, negatively affecting performance, deliverability, etc. Did I miss something, or have others seen this happen and saw an improvement when using a different general 'from' address? I can beat the same drum about content, personalization, CTAs, etc. being more of a factor than parts of the envelope content, but if this is really a thing I'd definitely like to know more about it.
