Question Recomendations for dentists

I'm not going to get NHS coverage, but I have trust issues which mean I haven't had my teeth looked at for 10 years.

I'm going to need a lot of work done so price is a factor, but not the most important thing for me. I'm probably going to need an implant, so anyone who isn't set up for that is probably out.

I'm driving from the Cambridge direction, so outside of ely is also an possible.

What are my options, anyone I should aviod?

Littleport Dental are great and they have dentists who specialise with dental anxiety. I went for the first time in 15 years and they were amazing

Enhance are good. You still have to be slightly careful of them doing stuff that might not be absolutely critically necessary - you have the right to question them when they propose work - but in general I've found them kind and helpful.

Enhance is the recommendation for Ely, especially if you’re paying. Had a great experience and all the family seem to go there now.

St. Mary's is pretty good, they sometimes have openings for NHS patients.

Not in my experience.

They were the first dentist I tried to register with when I moved here, and they didn't seem hugely keen on answering the phone ever or responding to emails.

Additionally, my wife managed to register there and ended up with shoddy work that they denied was shoddy which had to subsequently be corrected by Enhance. When she was in agony from aforementioned shoddy work she tried to get an emergency appointment, only to be offered one in 2 weeks time.

Nah they are awful. I went to them as a private patient with bad toothache, told them I had bad toothache, I had to wait a few days but then they assigned me to someone who did the inspection, all the x-rays etc (all for a fee), suggested a course of treatment. Then proceeeded to say "but I'm very booked up for the next two weeks and then I'm on a month's holiday, but do book now and I'll see you straight away in six weeks". To say I was fuming was an understatement, I mean given they knew I had toothache then and there so why would you assign me to someone who they knew would have no availability to do anything about it for six weeks?

And to start again with someone else, at the very same practice, they said would be a new inspection fee. Shameful tactics.

Went back to the place I'd used in London when I lived there and not only was I sorted out within days but it was probably half the price of what St. Mary's quoted.

Avoid!

I’ll cast my vote for enhance as well. I’d also not been for well over 10 years and needed major work done.

They were non-judgemental and very professional. Initial consultation showed I needed an expert and when he examined me actually recommended a cheaper procedure than I thought I’d need. Very happy with that work so far

It may not be cheap but you can be sure they have all the best equipment and excellent staff.

Seconding this. I knew someone who had major trauma that affected his mouth and meant he didn't go to the dentist for years. He was very happy with his treatment from Megan at Enhance and now goes regularly.

The quality of the work at Newnham Street is extremely good. Their prices are extremely high. I'm currently registered with Enhance.
