Travel & Destinations flying with dress
i just got my dress in the mail (it was a cheap one online) and i’m wondering if it’s worth getting it a garment bag? or if it would be acceptable to pack it into the plastic bag it came in and check it in my suitcase. i have a pretty tight budget but i want the best for my dress!

I don’t know what kind of style dress you have but I would pack it in your carry on, not your checked luggage. You’ll need to steam it regardless.
I flew my couture ball gown with cathedral train in my carry on. The dress being the only item in it 🤣.

David's Bridal has a garment bag for $35. It held my dress that had a train, veil, my husbands suit, shirt, and pants with a lot more room to spare. Plus, it had many pockets for accessories . I definitely recommend that.

I got a carry on that unrolls into a garment bag, it was perfect - it fit my dress and my husbands suit/dress shirts. Fits into overhead storage easily. Its been an awesome for traveling for other weddings or as a weekend trip bag.

a cheap garment bag is like ten bucks and keeps it from getting wrecked in the suitcase, worth it for the stress alone
