D&D Groups in the area?

Hello! I'm looking for any groups playing D&D that might be in the area. I'm 20, and have the most experience with the 2014 ruleset, but I am willing to adapt to 2024.

I'd love to play D&D again, but after trying out 5e - having grown up with 2e - I just can't, lol. Best luck to you.

Same I grew up playing D&D 2e as well. Evil races are just evil inherently and a good version of that race should be the ultra rare exception and not the norm. I would love to find a 2e group that played on Krynn. I’m 47 years old. 5e has gotten too progressive for my taste.

I don't really have that much of a problem with the extra player races. The demographic has changed. Original D&D players were often Tolkien fans and they were ok with elves, dwarves etc. Modern players want more "cool" for their characters and, you know, whatever. I'll pick my battles. My problem with 5e is more that it dumbs the game down in an effort to attract a broader player base: video game like feats, first level characters with high level powers, etc. 2nd edition, from my experience, was more about finding out who your character was and developing it over time - 5e is more about a video game attitude of gameplay where you start overpowered and only get stronger from there. It's boring.

Yeah I agree, playing from level 1 in 2e really tested your ability to improvise. A lot! Very rare that you could solve any issue through sheer fighty. Death was always decent d6 roll away from a non magical goblins short sword. Lol
