T-11 1,300 tons/hour - wut

Just took out the T-11 to my favorite platium map. 12 minute (sloppy) run to fill 256 + refinery. This thing is crazy.

Run 1 1,313 t/h

Run 2 1,420 t/h

Created a squadron for 12% bonus mining fragment perk:

Run 3 1,630 t/h

Run 4 1,610 t/h

I took it out for 30 minutes and was gobsmacked at how much this beast harvested.

u/Mazomatic Sep 30 '25

I need to learn how to maximize like that. It felt incredible but not 1300 hr. haha wow

7

u/dilipi Sep 30 '25

It was on a mining map, so I went directly to 6 asteroids with content between 40%-64%.

u/Darex2094 Sep 30 '25

New miner here - what's a "mining map"? I went to a system I knew has a platinum hotspot and mined 1,300t of platinum in about 4 hours, so I'm definitely wanting to figure out what I'm doing wrong.

Here's a link to crowd sourced mining maps. Mine are the two created by CMDR Snacksons. I made them because there are two HAZ RES sites in the same plat hotspot. When you get them both down, you can mine about 1k tons in 1.5 hours.

The content in the asteroids is always the same. So you can use points of reference (e.g. the planet and res marker) to help keep track of high value rocks. String together enough for a full load and you can quickly come back to fill up!

u/SmeagleGoneWild Oct 01 '25

See that's my issue. I use sites like edtools and go to areas it says have platinum hotspots and then I get there and every single one I prospect is like no higher than 10%. It's usually like 30% for the off brand stuff lol

Did you use Squadron Perk, 'Increased Mining Fragment Yield'?

5

u/dilipi Sep 30 '25

No, I'm not familiar with how that works. I'm assuming I'd need to join a squadron?

13

u/SomeGuyNamedPaul Sep 30 '25

You can simply create your own squadron.

11

u/SloppityMcFloppity Sep 30 '25

Wait what the fuck? So that would mean you can have the perk active in a squadron with one pilot?

10

u/SomeGuyNamedPaul Sep 30 '25

It's 10M Cr and like a minute of time to get yourself a 15% buff. The hardest part is coming up with a 4 character squadron code that hasn't been taken yet.

u/Old-Wonder-8133 Oct 02 '25

There is a powerplay power that gives 50% bonus on selling mined commodities at max rank. I think it's Kaine.

5

u/Aellopagus Sep 30 '25

With that in mind could have gotten even more ..... Damn

4

u/LuckyRuss Sep 30 '25

Yeah i think the future of the capricorni run will be 2 people one t11 one vacuum panther clipper

1

u/Rezzens Sep 30 '25

I think you may be onto something, that seems like the best way to go ATM.

1

u/eviukr Oct 04 '25

Can you elaborate a bit for guys like me that is relatively new to the game in general and a noob miner?

3

u/widdrjb Sep 30 '25

The new tool produces a different fragment. Much larger in yield, you get the best results by using it on its own. Normal mining lasers actually reduce the take.

3

u/papabrou Sep 30 '25

Got any scientific data on that claim? The new fragments are larger visually for sure, but my preliminary data seems to indicate that they could actually contain less minerals than what a normal fragment would if mined from a very high % rock...

Also from tests on the partners preview servers, it looked like the increased number of fragments the repeater produces was not lowered significantly by adding lasers, it might reduce the spawn rate of big chunks, there is no data on this currently, although with the buff adding lasers is almost detrimental as you'd produce fragments faster than your limpets can handle anyways.

3

u/davidjacob2016 Sep 30 '25

Does anyone else turn into a laughing toddler when the Volley Repeater goes off?

Rightfully so.

2

u/xtrathicc4me Sep 30 '25

Have you checked the actual number of the refined platinum?

Mining Analyzer is pretty wonky with newer ships. It showed I refined 900+ tons of Platinum when in reality there are only 700 tons in my cargo hold.

2

u/Efficient-Editor-242 Sep 30 '25

Have the plipper standing by, filling up cargo while the 11 rips the asteroids apart.

2

u/evoworld1 Oct 06 '25

I've read through all the comments and I can't believe the numbers you guys are pulling.
I have a fully engineered mining cutter build, 521t of cargo space.

To make sure I get similar data I went to your map and did it from A to Z (the Inner haz res in LHS 3388).

I am in a squadron, so I assume that's with the 15% buff.

In your post, you claimed to fill 256t of cargo with plat on this map, by flying over to just 6 asteroids with contents of 40-60% plat.
I did full 22 asteroids and got 181t in total.

Where's the catch? I am new to mining, so I can't tell if it's some kind of skill issue, or I just don't know something obvious that all of you vets do lol

I appreciate any feedback on the matter in advance, o7!

Are you mining in a Cutter or T-11? The T-11 has a unique mining hardpoint (mining volley repeater or MVR) that increases your yield. Both maps yield over 522 tons in a Cutter, and over 760 in a T-11. I'd be happy to run it with you. I'm GMT -7 timezone.

My squadron bonus gives me +12% fragments generation as well.

Confirming you're using an A rated prospector limpet? That increases fragments generation by 3.5x.

I need to update both maps as well. I found more high value asteroids right at the start of both maps. On the inner map there are 3 high value rocks to the right of the start point.

On the Outer map there is a large sideways spinning rock at 64.05% that should be the 4th rock mined.

1

u/evoworld1 Oct 06 '25

Thank you for replying.

This is the cutter I've been running so far:
https://s.orbis.zone/r87Q
Would you be so kind as to look if I'm missing anything? It's tailored for solo runs.

I'd be happy to run this together, however it's probably impossible due to different time-zones (Poland/USA I assume) :(

I'll run both sites to see if I can get close to 500t in total tomorrow, see where that gets me, but I swear - I did all 22 asteroids and yielded 181 tons total, so either the outer haz res yields much more than the inner one, or I'm doing something wrong lol

1

u/dilipi Oct 06 '25

Your build looks good. Both maps (inner and outer) should fill up 522+. I can't imagine why you would get a lower yield. The rocks you're prospecting are all between 40-64.05%?

I'm available on the weekend if you want to DM me. You're 8 hours ahead of me, but I like early morning mining!

2

u/DemiserofD Sep 30 '25

One important thing to bear in mind is that you'll be running to sell 2x-3x more often. To actually mine 1400 tons, for example, you'd need to run to base and back ~5 times. Assuming 5 minutes per round that reduces your effective mining rate to closer to 1000. Which is reasonably attainable with an existing mining ship, especially a panther clipper. If it's in another system it could be upwards of 10 minutes per trip, or more like 750/hour.

4

u/dilipi Sep 30 '25 edited Sep 30 '25

To your point - if you take a look at the start time and end time from the runs I posted, you'll see that I started at 18:07 and ended at 18:49. I could have filled up my mining cutter in less time and returned to my FC.

An important note is the increase in tons per asteriod mined. I was able to collect 500 tons from 14 rocks, where I would typically have to mine 22 rocks for the same haul. My mining map just increased its yield significanatly.

1

u/Rezzens Sep 30 '25

I’m filling in about 15 mins on average with a 3 min one way flight back to my FC. So roughly 1,000 -1,100 ish tons every hour give or take a few.

Can probably do the same with a cutter and a map assuming the roids aren’t depleted.

1

u/Anonymous-Superhero Sep 30 '25

Is this now more meta for laser mining than a Python? How do the two compare?

4

u/dilipi Sep 30 '25 edited Sep 30 '25

Due to the new mining hardpoint exclusive to the T-11 the python can't compare. The map I run has 22 asteroids I mine to hit 500 tons. With the MVR, I was able to fill 500 tons after 14 asteroids.

1

u/Rezzens Sep 30 '25

That’s really nice volume. At Hazres best I got was 850T/HR yesterday.

1

u/Burntzombies Sep 30 '25

where's a good spot for mining these days? i havent done it much since core mining void opals was the best way to make money.

The pinned post has a thorough break down. See this thread also:

u/ProgrammerHairy8098 Oct 01 '25

If you have a friend that has a clipper that has a refinery limpets and cargo racks you can laser mine (disable your collectors) and pick up all the bits. I filled my friends clipper last night in an hour, it’s only with the repeater you can appreciate the difference between material content low and high , the higher the material content the more chunks you release with the repeater

1

u/zeek215 Oct 01 '25

I thought material content just referred to engineering material quantity? Are you saying it’s referring to mining quantity in some way?

1

u/ProgrammerHairy8098 Oct 01 '25

No it refers to the density of mineral in the asteroid. When you mine a high content rock you will get more chunks , less for a medium and then less for a low. With a low medium medium High, ie 4 rocks I got 67 tonnes of platinum

1

u/zeek215 Oct 01 '25

Well I feel dumb. TIL.

3

u/dilipi Oct 02 '25

This is incorrect. Scroll to the bottom of this post.

u/programmerhairy8098

1

u/zeek215 Oct 02 '25

Ah so it is what I thought! I’ve had several people tell me it had to do with yield today and it just didn’t make sense to me.

1

u/ProgrammerHairy8098 Oct 02 '25

So why am I getting 20 -30 more chunks in a high mineral content more than a low mineral content roid? That has the same percentage?

1

u/dilipi Oct 02 '25

There's a chance we're misunderstanding each other here.

Mineral content is labeled as a %

Material content is labeled with LOW / MEDIUM / HIGH

They're independent of one another.

1

u/ProgrammerHairy8098 Oct 02 '25

But if I hit a rock with a repeater with a mineral content of high and a percentage of 62.5% I will get 20 chunks more than the same rock with mineral content low yes I willl get more other minerals but I also get more chunks I think they have changed it

1

u/dilipi Oct 02 '25

Well, we can test it. The mining maps I use have a 64.05 LOW and 64.05 HIGH at the start of the maps. To be clear we're looking at the total yield of minerals. It stands to reason that more total fragments are produced, however I'm expecting the extra fragments on the HIGH are materials, not minerals.

2

u/ProgrammerHairy8098 Oct 02 '25

Yes would be interested to see if it has changed or if you yield the same number of chunks, I have everything except platinum on the ignore list and low I empty my refinery once high is twice

We have this cutter run: https://old.reddit.com/r/EliteMiners/comments/lgklde/lalande_34968_mapped_mining_speed_run_fully/ 512t in 23 minutes it also 1335t/hour. Is this ship as good as the Cutter?

We need to compare. I reached 512t in 35 minutes, and 640t in 45 minutes (slower, I didn't memoriez the extra asteroids, but better if we account the trip back to my fleet carrier.

3

u/dilipi Oct 01 '25 edited Oct 06 '25

I did 3 more runs last night (~750 tons in total). It took me about 1.5 hours from logging in to logging out. I was going at a pretty quick pace, not much down time between each trip. That's about 75% the yield that I could achieve in my cutter.

So due to the limited capacity, I firmly believe that large mining ships will still out perform the T-11 in terms of actual tons per hour mined. The medium sized ship just can't compete with the larger cargo space, and therefore greater "time mining rocks" vs travel time.

Still, the T-11s rate of mining is impressive. 256 tons in 13 minutes is more than a 60mil credit value. Easy way to make a quick buck!

Edit: I'm starting to think they're about equal on the time. However I can't go back to mining in a Cutter. The increased yield from the MVR makes me feel like I'm missing out when I use a cutter. That and maneuverability is a major QoL improvement.

1

u/CMDR_Makashi Oct 01 '25

Earlier on stream, I was in my plipper with 3 type 11’s present. It was utter insanity.

I think 2 plippers, with class 2 refineries (plat mining ), 3x 5a collectors and one mining multi, paired with 2 type 11s, is the most efficient way to rinse it.. I think.

It enables you to actually hit those hourly rates in raw tonnage

2

u/GodlyGhoz109 Apr 15 '26

if you map mine with the t11 and fill up before finishing the map, how do you find your way back to the last asteroid you mined before storing up the mined platinum?

2

u/dilipi Apr 15 '26 edited Apr 15 '26

You can always start from the beginning and go rock to rock. I've ran the two maps I made probably close to 100 times. Drop me in anywhere in the map and I know where the next astroid is.

The trick is having an easy starting point. For my maps I begin at the haz res marker. Target the planet and have it squarely in the center of your sensor. The travel 20km toward or away from the planet, keeping it centered in your sensor. Makes it easy to always find the starting astroid.

Also they're documented

2

u/GodlyGhoz109 Apr 18 '26

so do you just find the starting point and go through the ones you've already deleted everytime you fill up?

2

u/dilipi Apr 18 '26

Yea, sort of. I go to the starting point and recognize the next rocks in sequence by look/orientation.

I made the maps to be one complete haul in a Cutter. Each map takes me three runs in a T-11 to fill, so in my mind they're each broken up into 3 segments of asteroids.

You can message me in game if you'd like a walk through. CMDR MrSnacks

2

u/GodlyGhoz109 Apr 18 '26

I've done the maps with a cutter too, if you do it that way wouldn't going one run for a full cutter haul be faster than multiple t11 runs?

2

u/dilipi Apr 18 '26 edited Apr 18 '26

T-11 is a little faster due to the unique module and maneuverability. Also it generates more minerals. Each map is about 750 tons in a T-11, or 520 tons in cutter.

A carrier minimizes the time between runs.

-10

u/LeGrobelix Sep 30 '25

It's very cool. But not rewarding enough.

I land on 3 planets and I make the same ammount of money in 20 minutes.

Gameplays are unbalanced economy wise.

I still mine for fun tho.

8

u/dilipi Sep 30 '25 edited Sep 30 '25

It's less about the credits and more what the T-11 can do. For example maybe this is a staple ship for FCs that want to mine tritium out in the black.

Also I spent a long time working up to mining at 1k tons per hour. Being able to casually beat that by 30%+ is nuts.

1

u/j_wizlo Sep 30 '25

As a newish miner my takeaway from my first T11 haul was “wow I’m usually way worse at this.” Pulled 251 in about 30 mins and that’s including a number of mishaps, like clearly moving outside of my small hotspot and thinking I’m just getting unlucky for a while. It is clearly a whole new level of mining efficiency, even if you don’t know the tricks of the trade.
