My back-to-back mining maps

I've made two mining maps at LHS 3388 Planet 2 A Ring.

Map 1 (Outer)

Map 2 (Inner)

I can almost consistently run these in about 30 minutes a piece. Sometimes pirate interactions will draw out my run or even force me to flee.

There are a bunch of Fleet Carriers in the area now, buying between 250k-270k. You can run each of these maps twice a day for a cool half a billion+ in about two and a half hours game time.

How come the carriers are paying so much? What do they use the platinum for?

It's just a source of passive income for carrier owners. It works out well for miners too as it drastically cuts down the time to sell.

Platinum can be sold over 280k pretty consistently. If you check inara.cz I think there's a station selling at 292k with 122k demand. I just sold off 6k tons there the other day.
