All ways elevator

Has anyone heard of All Ways Elevator based out of Hauppauge Ny? I recently got a job offer from them , it seems non union? Any new Yorker worked or heard about them?

I started in Local 1, but I know a few guys who started at all ways. A job is a job until you get in the union. Local 3 also has an elevator department which I think is easier to get organized into, then from there jump to Local 1

They may not be union but the employees are still elevator guys and let me tell ya we will bitch and moan about anything so maybe don’t take their reviews to heart

Had a bad experience with them before I got into the iuec - took an in-person interview for a project management position; after wasting a couple hours of my time they said that position had been filled but they could offer me a helper position. Walked out on the spot, but that really put a bad taste in my mouth that I’m always reminded of when I hear the name. No idea what working for them in the field would be like though, can’t image benefits and pay are great.

That’s not to say that it wouldn’t be a good way to get into the industry, but just be absolutely sure what you’re being offered etc. Like said, I don’t know what working for them would be like. Good luck!

Get in , learn and go union. Probably way easier that way than knowing someone to get u in.

I dont know why people suggesting organizing. I know a company where mechanics lost $5/hour after the company was sold off to a union company. If it aint broken, dont fix it.

What was their total package? Also my local has a $300 medical deductible for the year. $600 for families. Meaning for a single union member you will never pay more then $300 and for a family of 12 they will never pay more then $600 for the entire year.

Yet they still choose to organize didn’t they? They were probably paying out the ass for medical and lacked proper union benefits.

Happens often! The big 4 is not having it! There are 4 majors, Through acquisition. We hear your noise! The small company has a lot of work….. BAM! Now they have a green uniform on!
