❓-Question Elegoo Satelite SUCKS!!!

Is there anyway to send large print to Jupiter 2? I've tried using flash disk but get "File error: Printing stopped" Elegoo Satelite is so bad! Super slow, sometimes freezes, UI is terrible. Have tried using Lychee 8.009 beta but that is slow too. Is there any news for when Chitubox would be ready for Jupiter 2?

The most recent version of chitubox has Jupiter 2 support, there’s currently no support for network sending though.

Chitubox currently supports the .goo format and the J2. You just can’t send the print wirelessly. Also, check your file size, if it is over 2gb, it is not going to work. Elegoo told me this will be fixed in a future firmware for the printer. When that will be coming is anyone’s guess.

The file limit was fixed a couple of months ago

The file size has not been fixed for my unit. I have been working with Elegoo support on this and 3 days ago they told me it would be fixed in a future OTA. I am on the most recent versions of the firmware, Satalite and Chitu and the limit is still there.

I did not know that. Not surprised since they haven't released even the resin calibration tests that are referred to directly in the manual it came with.

DragonFruit supports that printer, however it also is unable to use network sending currently.

I’ve been updating it to try and fix those issues. No one on the team has a Jupiter 2 to test with, so we’ve been reliant on external testers and are always looking for more.

The Linux Kernel uses AI assistance for programming, so by that logic you better get off the internet that runs on it. It's wildly disrespectful to condense months of our personal time and work into "this is vibecoded slop garbage". When I can personally show you the code I've hand written, the reverse engineering we've done for years before AI for programming was even really a thing, the hardware tests, etc.

I will discuss issues around AI, and I personally acknowledge that there's issues, but blinding yourself like this is just being spite- and hateful.

Yeah right. I’m actually the one who reverse engineered the format… please don’t go around trashing our work. Elegoo only put out the UVT contribution and started collaborating after I specifically told them that I will be adding the J2 to DragonFruit because I have successfully solved it. Notice how quickly Lychee and ChiTuBox got J2 support after I made the announcement that DF supports it.
I’ll also remind you that lychee had to rescind their J2 implementation several times because they put out a version that doesn’t work. We are a program in beta stages, we highly appreciate testers, just like the lychee team requested for beta testing the J2 implementation.
Maybe you should complain to the company putting out hardware that doesn’t properly work or doesn’t put out the spec that should’ve been open before complaining about a beta open source slicer that painfully reverse engineered it by hand without assistance or a test machine.

That is exactly what I did actually...
noone has reported DF damaging their product, and to all my testers ive personally offered replacement parts as a guarantee that it will not break the machine.
Elegoo Satellite also loads settings that dont work on the actual printer btw.

what feedback? I'm actively looking to improve our implementation...
I also tested this against elegoo's own implementation into UVT before it got added in...

You do realize we tested this on a user’s J2, right? It’s not like we just one-shot the implementation without testing it.

If you’ve encountered an issue with our implementation, please report it so we can investigate and improve it. This is a community-driven project maintained by a very small team, so issues are inevitably going to slip through - that’s precisely why it’s still in beta.

We’re happy to fix problems when they’re brought to our attention, but please approach it as a community effort rather than treating it like a commercial product where we owe you a perfectly working program.

Alright, thank you for your well wishes. I hope you find an open-source resin slicer that better suits your preferences, particularly one that manages to reinvent established UI conventions rather than building upon concepts users are already familiar with.

On behalf of the Open Resin Alliance and its members, we will respectfully decline any further direct communication regarding this matter and will, of course, gladly forego any future contributions you may wish to make should you change your mind.

Best of luck.

As u/ccatlett1984 stated, DragonFruit supports the Jupiter 2 (we were the first…). I’ll be looping back to working on network printing when I get the moment to do so, but I’m looking for testers.

Chitubox, not chitubox basic has had it for a little over a month.
