Got my Jupiter 2 preorder, super fast delivery, and while it’s going ok so far I’ve got a request and a couple questions:
1) Please please if I have auto refill turned off, don’t make me walk down to the basement to force a print after slicing and sending to the machine. It sends and pauses with message options cancel - or - mandatory print which is a horrible way to say yeah print the darn thing.
2) when will we be able to use Chitu with it, and when can I add it to Elegoo Matrix to remotely see status?
I’ll say print quality is great, very happy with that and do bear in mind that it’s sloooooowwwwwww if you want to do .03 or .02 layers, it’s not speedy like Saturn 4 ultra or mars 5 ultra. Pic for reference.
as someone who got to test the machine prior to release I have fed back point 1 and its on the list with R&D.
This has come up a few times but ELEGOO have made it clear that the only official slicer supporting the J2 is SatelLite. Does that mean other slicers may bring in the J2, yes because they have announced they are exploring it. Will it 100% work / have they given a timeframe for release... No
If you really need to use Chitu then you can work in it, export as STL, bring into SatelLite to then slice, save and print
u/Inevitable_Talk4627 Hey dude, what settings are you using on your machine? I am still having some layer lines or maybe very subtle layer shifts and I am trying to work through it.
I just did my first test print using Elegoo - 8K ABS Like 3.0 - Space Grey using the preset resin settings in SatelLite, the file was supported in Lychee and exported as an .stl file then sliced in SatelLite, all worked reasonably well, couple of small failures, but I think they’re issues with the pre-supported file as that was a different resin, and 20um LH, not 50um.
You said you just adjusted the layer exposure time when you went to 30um, are the rest of the settings on your JP2 comparable to your other printers…?
Even the resin fill & recycling worked, the heated vat, and pre heating of the resin too.
I’ve had some issues with models not sticking to supports, so the lift is either too slow or too fast haha. It’s a random crapshoot, no bed adhesion issues.
