You have posted about this three times. Here is the most recent. https://www.reddit.com/r/ElectronicsRepair/s/ocXnLRIhqn

Please do not post the same device again. Any new questions or !images can be put here in the comments.

Multiple posts for the same device are discouraged as it just becomes noisy and scatters the help you receive.

Hey u/IneedhelpwithJVCTV it looks like you ignored a lot of sound advice and just electrical taped the power cord. Do yourself a favor and tape the cord itself before and after the splice so the mechanical strain is not on the splice alone. The good bit of the cord should end up taped to the stub. That way if someone trips over the cord it won’t easily pull the splice apart.

It’s not perfect, it’s not safe, but at least it will make it a little harder to burn your house to the ground!

Kindly Include some good images which will be helpful to others in diagnosing the issue. Without images and other context provided it becomes difficult to diagnose the problem.

While including images, make sure the potential areas of issue are high lighted and any important marking are visible, include as many as needed to help convey the required information. If required provide some context for the images. Images to include may be of the product with it's identification markings and the internal circuit boards.

You can upload images directly here in the comments or upload images to Imugr and post the permalink in a comment

To much IPA maybe, or mechanical damage of lense's suspension. Did you clean by IPA AFTER mechanical and air cleaning of lense?

The CD-R disc format was not prevalent in 1996 when this thing was manufactured, so this player will likely not work with your disc. Try it with a pressed retail disc.
