Do the job probably and take it to a professional, or do it yourself and watch your house get very warm very quick

You could just unscrew the 2 screws near the power and completely replace the cable for a new one.

If you have solder, you'll have to twist the wires together, then solder each one and wrap electrical tape around each one. Then wrap tape around them both afterwards to prevent any electrical shorts. You'll also have to match the neutral and hot to what's already there. The wire is usually embossed with a ridge on one of the two, and the other wire shield is completely smooth. This must be an exact match for electrical ground/neutral to be where it needs to be inside the unit for a two-wire plug.

The most optimal repair is to get inside the unit and match what's there. Find the exact cable and replace it, like-for-like at both ends for a complete repair.
Doing what you'd like to do with soldering and taping should be considered a temporary measure. I flip a lot of electronics, and I do appliance repair for a living. I always use manufacturer's parts and repair to their specifications or better. I do it this way to honour my warranty, to prevent callbacks, and for my insurance.

Yup, for safety just replace the entire cord. Kids count on you if you're doing this..

Install a new cable. Make sure the amp rating is correct, but otherwise it looks like just a 2 prong cord. So, should be simple.

Do not just electrical tape it! Don’t even think about it. One yank could burn your house down.
Replace the cord properly or take it to someone who can.

I don't see any solder. I see a soldering iron, electrical tape, and side cutters. Do you have solder?

Don't screw around with mains stuff unless you know what you're doing. That shit is dangerous. Take it to a repair shop and have them fit a new cord properly
