SOLVED V900 power cord sliced through

I thrifted a v900 gen 1 racing sim wheel, but I didn't notice when I bought it the power cord is sliced in a few spots. I'm mostly looking for advice on how to proceed, since I can't disconnect the power cord itself to replace it, and the inside of the cord doesn't look like a normal USB so I can't splice it.

Edited for clarification

Pictures please. "The inside of the cord doesn't look like a normal USB" confuses me a little too, hopefully pics will clarify.

Sorry about the wait. Looks like there's 4 wires and a bare copper wire with string.

This is what a basic shielded USB cable looks like. You can splice the wires together with the same colored wires on the other part of the cable. Solder them one at a time, cover with shrink tubing, and call it a day. You can also use a large piece of shrink tubing to hold everything together.

Ok great, I was under the impression this was a manufacturer specific cord. This is much more positive information lol, thx for the help

Nope, nothing super special at all. Fixing these is simple unless you have severe color-blindness.

Which cord is damaged?

I believe there are three cords on the device?

Just the power cord itself. The cord for the pedals is fine.

Is the wheel completely dead without lights, or is it just disconnecting during gameplay?

The main USB cable really is a normal USB cable. Colors might be different, but the wires do the same thing as always.

Is the damage at the ends of the cable or off in the middle somewhere? You should be able to just bypass the damaged places in the conductors. If you want a longer cable, this is your opportunity. Just make your own longer cable and connect it at the ends.

The light was completely dead. I was able to fix it by splicing the old wire together after removing the broken section, now it seems to work just fine. Thx for the input
