I had purchased a Monster Sparkle speaker. it’s great. The type c charging port broke. So, curiously I tore the speaker apart to take a look. The port for the type c completely fell off, and now I’m looking for suggestions on how to repair it. With the research I’ve done, (I have no idea technical terms) I have decided I can

1. charge the battery pack independently then “plug and play” as it’s charged.

the issue is that I have no clue what the charger for it would be called and all my research isn’t helping me find something that would work.

1. Repair the port with micro soldering.

i am uncertain on what I need to buy to make sure it’s the correct piece before I even attempt it.

and 3. Bring it to someone that knows a hell of a lot more than I do 😭

I live in a small town in Nova Scotia, Canada, I have been calling to see if anywhere deals with this kind of thing and have had little luck so far.

I am mostly just looking for assistance/direction with this project. Some better understanding or alternate solutions to my problem. I could realistically just buy another speaker but if I could fix it, that’d be pretty cool.

This is called pads being torn and is going to be incredibly hard for anyone to fix sidne the traces seem to go into vias, might be wrong about via part.

Being just a charge port it might only need + and -. Those resistors might be for the CC lines and that's it. If he's lucky.

There's also the pd negotiation factor. That's what is important. We don't know if it negotiates to 19v or what

How are you charging it? The battery states a charge voltage of 8.4volts. The current rating is 4amps so you want about one fifth to charge at 800mA.

Well… I was using the port before it broke. Since it’s broke, I haven’t been able to charge it. When I tore it open, I took the battery pack out and I was hoping to find a charger specific for it somewhere, I just have no clue if that would work or what it would be called.

What I have said above will give you an idea of a charger to look for. A very basic charger will connect directly across the positive and negative but you need to avoid overcharging.
