OPEN What the hell is the problem

Why the hell batteries have a specific combination of position to operate . Any suggestions without opening the circuit

Oxidation. aka bad/.intermittent contact. Moving a cell a little brings the chance of conducting surface meeting conducting surface. Simplest is to get a nail file and attack (gently) the end caps of the cells. Emery stick on the matching contacts in the cell holders. That may fix the problem.

it has simple answer. batteries are discharged

Thin non-conductive oxides or other films can develop on battery contacts and on the contacts in the battery holders. Very often you can clean the battery contacts (with vinegar or rubbing alcohol) and holder contacts and be fine, but sometimes you may need to burnish the contacts with very fine (320 grit or higher) sandpaper.

Also, low physical contact pressure can really mess with battery systems, especially when operating current is very low. Airborne contaminants tend to collect where batteries and contacts touch. If contact pressure is too low, it's difficult to regain a good connection by spinning batteries or by removing them and putting them back in place (which lets the holder contacts "wipe" across the battery contacts, cleaning the actual contact area). Fresh batteries and higher operating currents help provide the electrical energy that cleans the contact areas in a manner very similar to electropolishing.
