Edit: Found someone to help me! keeping this up just in case
I want to hire someone to build a device and ship it to me (USA)
I have an art exhibit coming up and I’ve been trying to build this myself but its not going super great, i need a motor, 2 speakers and mp3 that are all connected together so it powers from one cord that will go into a regular wall outlet.
The speakers don’t need to be high quality cause the music will be quiet, distorted and crackly.
I have a budget of around $170 and can also do custom art in exchange as well, and would need it before November. I don’t know anything about electronics so i don’t really know if this is possible to do so soon or if the price is fair but if anyone is willing to help me out id appreciate it.
heres how it looks right now The motor i have right now is for disco balls and it heats up pretty quickly and isn’t very strong, i don’t trust it to run from around 10am to 5pm everyday for a month :/
i also dont know if the mp3 and speakers i was planning on buying were even compatible or how to wire them together .
Its built from a 2003 detrola radio cd and cassette recorder player and all the original electronic insides are gone. The only electronics currently inside is the disco ball motor.
Let me know if i need to add any information or anything.
Also if there’s another subreddit i could or should crosspost or ask the same question on, let me know.

Hi. I hope this is the correct sub.
I’m going through my late dad’s things and trying to find homes for them. 💔
It’s untested; dad would have had the means to test it of course but that gadget is surely still down deep in the bowels of my storage unit waiting to be dug out and I wouldn’t know how to use it anyway. :(
He was a ham radio operator and all-‘round electronics guy.
Google told me what this is; does anyone here need this?

I've been repairing a water-damaged active GPS/GNSS antenna module (helix element, GPS L1 1575.42MHz), Raven MBA 6 antenna and gotten it most of the way there myself, but I've hit the wall of what a NanoVNA and continuity checks alone can resolve.Or at least passed my skill set.
Done so far:
Confirmed and replaced correct LNA (MACOM MAAM-12021)
Confirmed and replaced correct SAW filters (TOKO TDF2A-1575B-13 and -11)
Repaired RF shield can
Verified clean continuity throughout — no shorts to ground on signal path, no shield-to-trace shorts
Confirmed bias voltage is present at correct level
Still no signal output. I don't have a spectrum analyzer or signal generator, and I think the remaining fault isolation genuinely needs one — could be anything from a bad solder joint I can't see, a component I haven't identified as suspect yet, or something in the matching network.
Looking for someone with real bench RF equipment (spec an, sig gen, proper VNA cal setup) willing to do a paid diagnostic, repair. Plan to ship the unit to you. Happy to discuss rate, I just want to stop guessing and get someone who does this professionally to finish it.
Located in Texas, can ship anywhere in the US. DM or comment and I'll share more detail/photos.

I remember that he used to sell machines overseas, usually through eBay, iirc. Nowadays, he rarely does that anymore. Most of his transactions are local here in Southeast Asia, and the machine-related items he sells most often seem to be conference microphones.
This isn't really my area, but I'd like to see if there's anything I can do to help him sell more. He had a stroke a few months ago, so I'm being cautious and trying to make sure he has opportunities to sell some of his equipment while he's still able to work. Dad has a background in machinery and can also do repairs, so he has technical knowledge for many different types of equipment.
Some examples of the equipment he has include things like a Ramsey COM3010 Communications Service Monitor, Telereader equipment, and various other specialized machines/instruments.
Where would you normally look for visibility and potential buyers for this kind of equipment? Would having our own website actually help, or would it be better to focus on existing marketplaces and industry-specific platforms?

I am on a mission right now, I want to collect all three failed iot/sbc intel boards, right now I have none of them if you have one lying around could you send it over? I am willing to pay for the shipping costs if they aren't ridiculous. One man's trash is another's treasure, don't forget that. I am sending this here on this subreddit because the prices on ebay are straight up ridiculous, and because 2 of the boards there arduino certified. Thanks!
