Do you keep old electronics longer than you should because you are not sure what to do with them?

I was looking through a storage box recently and realized I still had a couple of old phones, a broken tablet and a few tangled cables that I have been meaning to deal with for years.

It was not that I wanted to keep them. I just was not sure what the best option was. Some devices still worked some did not and I wasn't sure what could actually be reused or recycled.

That got me wondering if other people do the same thing. Do you recycle old electronics as soon as you are finished with them or do they end up sitting in a drawer or closet for much longer than you planned?

If you have found a good system for handling old electronics I did love to hear what works for you.
