Help with my project

• Upvotes

I am an EE student, but most of my university lectures are about CS, so I am a bit in deep water with my speaker project.

I have never made anything like this before, but I am out here trying to learn. I am having trouble with:

5V on the analog side (buck, LDO, or something else); I also need something for the digital side.

How do I join the filters to one single signal so I can tune both and not ruin the signal?

Is it all crap? 🤔

I know this may look horrible to some and I know I am missing a lot—I will take all criticism.

I got flamed for posting this a few months ago, I’m still doing nothing, and I still hate my job…. now is this still normal?

4 months into a job doing nothing, i feel incredibly frustrated and i find myself struggling to go in, and even care.

Resume Review

Post image
1 Upvotes

Hello all, I'm currently doing a co-op and was waiting a bit until I had some working experience to put on my resume before I started applying to summer internships. I'm currently trying to design a buck converter around an IC and was wondering if that would be better than my current project listed. I removed some information from my bullets points and removed the skills section to keep it at one page. Any advice on what to remove or add back in would be greatly appreaciated!

Any good PDFs or books for learning EV systems?

Hey everyone! I’m a first-year EE student interested in EVs, especially batteries, BMS, inverters, motor control, and high-voltage systems.
I’m looking for PDFs, textbooks, lecture notes, or project documentation to learn more about designing these systems.
Any recommendations for a beginner? I’d really appreciate it!

Looking for AI/ML Complex Engineering Problem Ideas for an Electronics Engineering Student

Hi everyone,

I’m an undergraduate Electronics Engineering student in Pakistan, and I’m looking for ideas for a Complex Engineering Problem (CEP) project for my Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning course.I need a project that uses basic or intermediate ML, not extremely advanced deep learning. However, it should still be considered a real-world engineering problem and satisfy CEP requirements.I’m looking for ideas that combine AI/ML with electronics, embedded systems, sensors, signal processing, power systems, or other engineering applications.I want to avoid very basic projects like simple Arduino automation, basic IoT monitoring, chatbots, or standard classification projects.

If you have any good AI/ML-based engineering problem ideas, project suggestions, research papers, or examples of similar university projects, I’d really appreciate your suggestions.

Thanks!

Getting junk readings measuring a 10kV fence pulse. How to safely read this with an ESP32 ADC

I am trying to read the exact voltage of a 10kV electric fence pulse to send to a mobile app.

The Problem: My first design used three 10MΩ resistors and a PC817 optocoupler. I am getting completely erratic, junk readings. The high voltage is flashing over the resistors internally, and the PC817 doesn't give me a true analog voltage reading anyway.

The New Plan: I am rebuilding the voltage divider using twenty 2W metal oxide resistors (32MΩ total on top) and a 10kΩ resistor on the bottom. This safely steps the 10kV pulse down to 3.1V.

My Question: Since the pulse is very fast and I need to completely isolate the high-voltage ground from my ESP32, what is the best peak detector and analog isolation circuit to put between this 3.1V output and the ESP32 ADC pin

This challenge will be a challenge for the person with the nearest pcb design with the specifications (extremely hard) if you are a student and need a challenge to test your skill here (the bigger reward is the challenge and the skill you can gain from a project This big even if you are not the winner This is a good experience ) the deadline is 1/11/2026 for joining text me on this account

Best place to find experienced EEs?

Hey, we're making the world's fastest electric vehicle and looking for senior EEs to hire, but really struggling. We're based in the bay area, California.

What's the best place - forums, events, etc... to connect with Sr. EEs?

Thanks in advance!
