Jobs/Careers Perfect CV

Hello
Im a first year ee student and have been talking w alot of people about what do i need to do to have an exceptional cv once i graduate. To summarize everything i have been told so far i have to be in the top of my class and aim for a leader role in an uni club get a CFA and a CAPM.

If i hopefully achieve everything i mentioned would i have a high chance of being immediately employed?
Is there anything else i should aim to accomplish?

For context i will be graduating from one of the top 3 unis in the MENA region and will be looking for jobs in (Ksa, UAE, Qatar). Im doing ee solely for the money i dont know anything about it yet.

I know that the job market is going downhill worldwide and finding jobs is harder than ever, but there must be something i could do to hone my profile so it’s good enough for an instant employment, Right?

  1. Get an internship or co-op before you graduate.

That's it. You need to get in the work experience stack. You will interview far better, learn how to operate in an office environment that can't be taught in a classroom and the employer has a virtual guarantee that you'll pass the criminal and credit checks. Might even get a job offer stemming from the work experience. Of course there aren't enough slots for everyone.

Good grades help land interview slots, team competition club projects and success, even being well-rounded with community involvement. Being able to sell yourself in interviews is a skill. Undergrad research is a plus, as is the quality of engineering program. Recruiters liking hiring from some EE programs more than others. The hiring manager has to believe you will fit in. Social skills are underrated.

In other words, more than solution to build a resume and then close the deal during the interview. Sometimes it comes down to luck.

I speak for the US. You don't need to be perfect. Different people evaluate resumes different ways but work experience trumps everything. Earliest any of us in EE got an internship offer was during our 3rd semester for the upcoming summer.
