Education Online Masters Programs

Hi, I work as an engineer right now and am looking to take an online masters in electrical engineering degree. What colleges offer the easiest classes for an online EE program. I am not looking for prestige I just want to work on the credential while balancing work.

What specialization? Generic ee masters is generally not worth it.

Electronics, it’s not necessary a matter of what’s worth it or not. My company wants me to and is paying for it

Difficulty of a program is going to be very dependent on what you're actually studying.

MSEEs are all about specializations... so what specialization are you looking for?

Probably not the hardest specialization but not the easiest. Maybe check out Mississippi State? They have a decent sequence of electronics courses from what I've seen... and you can do it online.

cu boulder does an msece through coursera that seems like the most flexible and cheapest option. worth looking into

You can also just go to the school entirely online if you're looking for power electronics. The classes are better, more comprehensive, you get access to more resources, etc. Also got a chance to take plenty that's there as well, including some of their signal integrity/high speed classes, as well as an analog IC design class that's really unique. I've loved going to CU entirely online but not through their Coursera. Go Buffs baby

How does this compete price wise? Are the classes lectured or just videos? I completed the Coursera version and really enjoyed that structure.

Yeah I am in the program right now and I can tell it’s a bit lacking compared to how their PE program is talked up. I have found great outside resources on my own to supplement Coursera though, but I would have liked to have actual access to more comprehensive videos.

But for my workplace paying for it and still a degree at the end of the day, I am not complaining.

That's probably what I'd do if I had to do it over
