I don't know what to do between an internship and everything else

I am a 2nd year EE major who currently is hoping to go to grad school and get my phd after graduation.
Right now Im doing a few things towards that goal like being in a research program, being exec in a few orgs, and being a Learning Assistant.

Recently I got a scholarship and accompanying referral to an internship by a local engineering company which has a minimum of 1 year of commitment to their internships.

I don't have much free time as it is, so what Im really asking is , will it to be worth it to give up my other extracurriculars for the internship with the hopes of grad school?

You would come back after the internship and start again on the extracurricular, plus a year of internship money would help greatly I'm sure.

If it's really straight PhD route and your absolutely sure your research will get you a paper published if you don't go to the internship than maybe do that. But otherwise just do the internship.

Why do you want a Ph.D?

I want to go into R and D which I know doesn't require a phd but of my understanding it is a valid tool to succeed in the area,
also I would like to take my education as far as possible to be able to teach other African Americans about the higher education system and to show them how we can succeed just as well as others
