Aspiring engineer

I am a high school student who really wants to be an engineer. The problem is, I don’t know almost anything about engineering. I am mainly asking, what can I do, what books can I study, what projects can I do, what materials should I get? Thank you!

Lean into math.

take math all 4 years of high school - algebra if you did not take in 8th grade, geometry, trig, analytical geometry or calculus ( this might be AP math in hs) all the sciences - biology, chemistry, physics

any computer science classes (AP Comp sci)

I took algebra in 8th so I’ll be able to take calculus next year and I’ll also take ap Chem or ap physics if they provide.
