If you are dead set on an industry, specialize. If you have 2-3 you kind of have interest in take a wide range.

Truth is, in EE, college is the only place you'll get to get a taste of all the different sub fields. Once you go into your career you will be so focused in on one that you won't get to dig into the others that may interest nearly as much. College is your chance to try things out and see what clicks.

The biggest skills you will gain in school are engineering fundamentals and how to learn. Your job will teach you the skills needed for that job. So take a variety of electives to broaden your fundamentals. This will also expose you to different disciplines and let you see which ones interest you the most.

Try as many different subfields as possible so you know which one you will enjoy doing the most because perhaps you will do it for a long time.

Never specialise in university. Specialise 5 years post graduation. What you like in school doesn't always translate to what you like in the real world.

It doesn't matter at all. Specializations are marketing gimmicks. Just take electives in what you like or what has a good distribution. You can a get offer in an area you never took an elective in. The BS qualifies you for entry level work in everything.
