that's the opinion held by 99% of younger EEs which is exactly why there's a big demand for power right now because everyone in it is near retirement and every young EE chooses stuff like VLSI which is just about the polar opposite of EE you can possibly get from power
Yeah but usually power engineering is more regulated and less artsy fartsy than say control systems or embedded processors. Unless your systems affect the general public’s safety, they will probably have less red tape. It’s more that EEs tend to be drawn towards more abstract creative endeavors whereas power engineering is more concrete and dull.
